Wenn nicht anders angegeben, beziehen sich also alle
lnformationen auf beide Gerate. Sie unterscheiden sich

Ce manuel dutilisation est destiné a la fois au modéle
A-33OOSX et au modéle A-33008X 2T (deux pistes). Sauf
indication contraire, tous les renseignements contenus dans
ce manuel sappliquent aux deux modéles. Les differences
principales entre les deux types de magnétophones
concernent Ia vitesse de la défilement de la bande et les
tétes magnétiques (ainsi que les circuits d'enregistrement et

0 REC BIAS Switch

Bias is a very high frequency AC signal that is applied to
a tape during recording to improve the recording capabili-
ties of the tape. The amount of bias affects the signal-to-
noise ratio, distortion and frequency response of the tape.
Different tape formulations require different amounts of
bias for best results. Therefore TEAC provides this BIAS
Switch which allows you to select two levels of bias which
are suitable for a variety of tapes. Use the chart on page 3
to guide you in selecting the prOper setting of the REC
BIAS Switch.

® REC E0 (Equalization) Switch

The amount of equalization used during recording affects
the frequency response of the tape and tape deck. Dif-
ferent tapes require different equalization to properly
match the tape to the deck. Therefore TEAC provides a
switch to select two levels of E0 which will provide good
results with a variety of tapes. Use the chart on page 3
to help you to select the switch setting that will give
Optimum equalization for various tapes.

® REC MODE Switches

The REC MODE Switch for a channel must be ON to allow
erasing and recording when the deck is placed in the Record
mode. At least one REC MODE Switch must be 0N to
allow the deck to go into Record mode. Both switches must
be ON for stereo recording and only one may be UN for
monophonic recording. During playback only, leave the
REC MODE Switches OFF to prevent erasing or recording
of your tape in the event you accidentally depressed both
the REC and Play > Buttons instead of just the Play D
Button. You may go directly from Playback mode to Rec-
ord mode if a REC MODE Switch is ON during playback
operation. Without depressing the STOP Button, while the
tape is in motion, hold in the REC Button while you de-
press the Play > Button. The red record indicator lamp
will light. This is called a "running splice" or punch-in
recording".

G Aufnehme-Vormegnetisierungsschelter (REC BIAS)

Vormagnetisierung ist ein sehr hochfrequentes Wechsel-
stromsignal,dasdem Band w'a'hrend der Aufnahme zugefiihrt
wird, um dessen Aufnehmequalitat zu verbessern. Der
Betrag der Vormagnetisierung beeinfluBt den Signal/
RauschSpannungsabstand, Klirrgrad und Frequenzgang des
Bandes. Unterschiedliche Bandtypen erfordern unterschied-
liche Vormagnetisierungsbetrage, um beste Resultate zu
erzielen, lhr Gerat wurde deshalb mit diesem Vormagneti-
sierungsschalter ausgestattet, mit dem Sie zwei verschiedene
Vormagnetisierungspegel wahlen kennen, die sich fiir eine
Reihe unterschiedlicher Bandtypen eignen. Beziehen Sie
sich bei der richtigen Einstellung aul die Tabelle auf Seite 3.

G) Aufnehme-Entzerrschelter (REC E0)

Der wahrend der Aufnahme verwendete Entzerrungsbetrag
beeinfluBt den Frequenzgang von Tonband und Geréit.
Unterschiedliche Bandtypen erfordern einen unterschied-
lichen Entzerrungsbetrag, damit ein bestimmtes Band mit
einem bestimmten Gerat verwendet werden kann. Aus
diesem Grund wurde dieses Tonbandger'at von TEAC mit
einem Entzerrschalter ausgeriistet. mit dem Sie zwei ver-
schiedene Entzerrungspegel wahlen konnen, so dais Sie mit
den von lhnen benutzten Bandtypen die besten Resultate
erzielen. Bei der Einstellung dieses Schalters beziehen Sie
sich bitte auch auf die Tabelle auf Seite 3.

® Aufnahmefunktionsschalter (REC MODE)

In Betriebsfunktion Aufnahme ist Loschen und Aufnehmen
nur moglich, wenn der Funktionsschalter liir die Kanale
eingeschaltet ist (ON"). 035 Gerat kann our in Betriebs-
funktion Aufnehme geschaltet werden, wenn mindestens
einer der beiden Schalter gedriickt wird. Fiir StereoAuf-
nahmen miissen beide, fiir Mono-Aufnehmen braucht nur
einer der Schalter gedriickt zu werden. Bei der Wiedergabe
lessen Sie diese Funktionsschalter ausgeschaltet ("OFF"),
um unbeabsichtigtes Loschen oder Aufnehmen zu vermei-
den, falls Sie aus Versehen statt nur der Wiedergabetaste
die Aufnahme- und die Wiedergabetaste gleichzeitig ge-
driickt haben sollten. lst wa'hrend der Wiedergabe einer der
Schalter eingeschaltet, so konnen Sie direkt von Wiedergabe
auf Aufnahme umschalten, indem Sie bei laufendem Band
ohne die StOptaste zu driicken die Aufnahmetaste nach
unten driicken und dort halten, wahrend Sie die Wieder-
gabetaste driicken. Die Aufnahme-Anzeigelampe leuchtet
rot auf. Dieser Bedienungsvorgang wird running splice"
(Umschalten bei laufendem Bandl oder punch-in record-
ing" (Einschaltaufnahme) genannt.
