IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 2 TASCAM 202 MK V The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance. The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated dangerous volt - age within the products enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Install in ac c o rda nc e with the m a nufac ture r's instructions. 8 Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that pro - duce heat. 9 D o not defe at the s afet y pu r p o s e of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polar - ize d p lu g ha s t wo b lade s with o ne wide r than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. 10 Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched par ticularly at plugs, conve - nie nc e re c e pt acle s, a nd the p oint whe re they exit from the apparatus. 11 Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. 12 Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, brack - et, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a car t is u se d, u se c au tion whe n moving the c a r t / apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over. 13 Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. 14 Refer all ser vicing to qualified ser vice per - sonnel. Servicing is required when the appa - ratus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not oper - ate normally, or has been dropped. - Do not expose this apparatus to drips or splashes. - Do not place any objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus. - Do not install this apparatus in a confined space such as a book case or similar unit. - The apparatus draws nominal non-operating power from the AC outlet with its STANDBY/ ON in the Standby position. - The apparatus should be located close enough to the AC outlet so that you can easily grasp the power cord plug at any time. - The main plug is used as the disconnect device; the disconnect device shall remain readily operable. - An apparatus with Class I construction shall be connected to an AC outlet with a protec - tive grounding connection. - Batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. - Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss. Beware of condensation ª If the unit is moved from a cold to a warm place, or used after a sudden temperature change, there is a danger of condensation; vapor in the air could con - dense on the internal mechanism, making correct operation impossible. To prevent this, or if this occurs, let the cassette deck sit for one or two hours at the new room temperature before using.
