Tandberg's amplilier designs
are state of the art technology
packaged with flexibility 01

Capacflance
change
1. All audio stages are comp-
rised exclusively at polyester
capacnors and metal film
resistors These components
have been chosen for several
reasons.
a) Commonly used electrolyr
tic capacnors exhibit 5 % or
more dielectric absorption.
This relers to the capacitor's
tendency lo «hang on» to the
signal passing through it and
thus superimocse its characte-
ristics on the lollowrng signal.
This causes a subtle sonic
«blurring» and loss of inner
detail. Polyester capacitors
exhibit 0.01 /17 dielectric
absorption. an improvement
on the order at 500 times.
b) Ceramic capacnors sutter
from an allied problem, They
tend to be voltage sensitive
and Iheir rated capaCItance
changes as the Signal voltage
swmgs through its normal
range The high lrequency
phase shill that results is the

2. High current amplifier des-
ign with lully regulated power
supply, Both TlA-3012 and
TPA-SOOGA feature toroidal

mum efficiency and minimum

rent design guarantees super
rior pedormance under all the
most dynamic signal conditi-
ons, no matter what type at
loudspeaker is used.
3. Digital Disc input on TCA
3002A and TIA 3012 otters an
overload rating in excess of 20
4. Passive/Active Phone E0.
Both phono sections, MC/MM
are split into passive H F. and
volts No matter how dynamic
the source it Will not overload
the input,
active L F sections This 9th
minates the need lor negative
leedback in the high end With
its resultant sonic degradation
MOSFET
Output stages
5 Both TIA 3012 and TPA
3006A feature MOSF ET
output stages. These output
devices require no voltage or
current limiting protection cir-
cu its. They are also much las-
ter than commonly used Bi-
Potar transistors and are more
treouency linear when driven
by Tandberg's exclusive con:
stant impedance driver stage.
Negative

Thermic Servo
Loop
6. Negative leedback must be
properly applied in order to
minimize distortion and not
cause its own sound deteriora
tion In TCA 3002A and TlA
3012 negative feedback is
applied in minimal amounts
7, Both TIA 3012 and TPA
3006A maintain 0 D C volt
potential at the outputs by use
With indiVidual loopsr only to
those amplilier Stages which
require it TPA 3006A has. in
fact. no leedback at all This

tains low distortion by use ol

system works Without any can

cuni This proprietary system
maintains constant tow distorr
