Series 4000 X is a tuity transistorized stereo tape recorder designed to satiety
the world's most discriminating markets with regard to quality. precision and
reproduction lidelity. Application oi the revolutionary Tandberg cross-field
technique has extended the frequency range upwards and made the lower
tape speeds more useiul tor high quality recording.

Series 4000)( has separate heads ior recording and playback. rendering
choise oi A- or B-test monitoring and enabling sound-on-sound recording.
The high-sensitivity microphone inputs are Intended for dynamic microphones
with 200-700 ohm impedance. A push-button selector adapts the pick-up
amplilier lor either magnetic or ceramic cartridge. Separate inputs and out-
puts are provided tor connection at tuner or auxiliary ampliiier. Fast-
rise. slow-decay meter in each channel indicates the instantaneous pro-
gramme level applied to the recording head.

Model 4000X has two power output ampliiiers. each one rated at 10 W. The
bass- and treble controls are continuously variable. and separate volume con-
trols are provided lor each channel. These ieatures make Model JOOOX a
vital part in a music installation with a high quality record player and two Hi-Fi
speaker systems. The recording can either be monitored in external or inter-
nal speakers or in headphones plugged into the jack on the top plate. in
the latter case all speakers are disabled. A speaker selector provides choice
oi internal or external speakers or all speakers simultaneously.

With a lever. the tape can be brought into contact with the playback head
during winding to enable cueing. which iacilitates spotting ol particular pro-
gramme parts.

Series AOOOX more than adequately meets all the requirements oi the Hi-Fi
specifications oi DIN 45500.

The us. as well as the Eu. models are prepared for modiiicalion to 4-channel
stereo.
