General
The SR-34 earspeaker is the electret type. a new
variation of the electrostatic earspeaker system.
Unlike the now conventional electrostatic
earspeakers such as its predecessor, the STAX SR-S.
the SIR-34 incorporates as its transducer a diaphragm
known as electret which operates without the
supply of DC voltage. Thus its adaptor SRD-4
circuitry has been considerably simplified.
Coupled with the advent of the advanced
material, the technology and know-how of STAX
accumulated through many years of electrostatic
earspeaker manufacturing have enabled the SR-34
to be comparable in sound quality to its renowned
predecessors.
Electrical Connections
1. Turn off the amplifier and connect 4-strand cable
of the SRO-4 to the amplifier output terminals; Red
strand to R -l-, Black strand to R vi, White strand to
L + and Green strand to L -- In case of a vacuum
tube amplifier with output terminals marked
16/8/4/09, consider that 89 Is if and 09 is (i
2. Connect speaker cords to the push terminals on
the rear side of the SRD-A, making sure the Left
' are properly matched. In case your
ampli er has two pairs of speaker terminals, the
speaker systems can be directly connected to the
amplifier.
3.Plug the SR-3O earspeaker to the SFID-4 front
panel socket. Once the system is energized the
earspeaker is now operative when the selector
switch is in EARSPEAKER and when the switch is
in LOUDSPEAKER the amplifier output will be
directly fed into the speaker system, provided the
speaker cords are connected to the SRD-4.
Although we maintain rigid quality control in
manufacturing and distribution. should you find
product defects including pre-mature aging, please
specifically describe them in writing and return the
product with the comment to your dealer. To
prevent transit damage, we recommend use of the
original package for this purpose.
Other Instructions
1. Adiust the headband so that the center of an
earspeaker is aligned with that of an ear.
2. The earspeaker cord is of soft, curl-resrstent,flat
4-paraIIeI-strand type. Care should be taken,
however, that no excess bending or stretching
pressures are applied to it,
3 Do not throw the earspeaker or do not Cause
severe impact to it to prevent possible damage to
the transducer.
4. Do not place the earspeaker in the direct
sunshine or on hot amplifiers to prevent warping of
its parts which may cause trouble.
5. In cleaning the earspeaker or ear-pads, do not
use thinner or its derivatives. Always use thin
soapy water or neutral detergent,
