HEAD ADJUSTMENT

Azimuth

Check that the magnetic head is clean. If dirty, clean. the
front of the magnetic head with a cotton swab and
magnetic head cleaner. Magnetic head cleaner may be
purchased at most stores which sell magnetic tape. Insert
a tape cartridge into the player and select a channel
which contains piano or strings. Turn the tone control
knob to high position.

Insert a screwdriver through the opening on top of the
unit to the magnetic head height adjusting plate nut.
Turn the magnetic head height adjusting plate nut (see
Ref No.21 of Exploded View) left or right until the
crosstalk disappears and only one program is heard.

insert a screwdriver through the opening on the bottom
of the unit to the azimuth adjusting screw

Turn the screwdriver left or right until the high fre-
quency reproduction is clearest. If readjusting the
azimuth does not reproduce the high frequencies, check
for

A. worm magnetic head

B. defective component in the audio circuit

C. a magnetized magnetic. head
