new. advanced set from Sansui. Featuring two dome tweeters.
each with an ultra-thin polyester film diaphragm. as well as two
large 7.50m woofers for superior tonal quality. the 88-50 repre
sents the very highest achievement of this complex sound and
speaker technology. Sound emanating from the 88-50 is emphat-
ically clean. with extremely smooth transition from woofer to
tweeter Bass is distortion-free and powerful. while the tweeter

eluded with the 38-50 is the easy-to-use coiled connection cable.
along with a unique Y-shaped extension cord that permits the
use of two headphone sets with a single amplifier. Using both
cables. the listener may sit as far as five meters from his ampli-
fier. Nor does he have to walk to his amplifier to adjust volume or
tone. for the 88-50 features separate volume and tone controls
for each channel. Comfort is also matter-of-fact with these Sansui
headphones. for they feature luxurious hand-sewn earpads de-
signed for easy listening for hours. Human engineering is one

2-WAY LSPEAKER SYSTEM Each headphone
in the 88-50 encloses a large 7.5cm woofer.
featuring a special cone noted for high bass-
radiation effucnency, and a 3.3cm tweeter. that
features a new polyester diaphragm. Both of
these speakem are carefully mounted on the
same axis. The crossover network that allocates
signals to the two speakers is the eleborate
LC type employing a special laminate core. The
result of such meticulous construction is an
extremely smooth and natural transition from
woofer to tweeter, and thus very natural sound
reproduction. Frequency response is a very
wide 20-20.000Hz.

NEWLY-DEVELOPED SPEAKERS The woofer
is able to reproduce distortion-free. powerful
bass notes. thanks to two Sansui innovations:
a new triple-corrugation surround and special
damping agent. Actually. these feature lower
the speaker's minimum resonance frequency
while extending its bass response. and thus per-
mit the reproduction of extremely deep lows.
The tweeter is equally efficient. It employs a
0.075mm thick. or very ultra-thin. polyester film
diaphragm for extended treble response. This
diaphragm works in concert with the tweeter's
tangential surround to improve its harmonic
distortion, inter-modulation distortion and tran-

SEPARATE CLICK-STOP TONE CONTROLS
Separate tone controls for left and right head-
phones are provided to permit adjustment of
the tonal quality to the listener's personal taste
or compensate for any undesirable properties
in the program source. These tone controls
possess ideal treble attenuating characteristics
and thus eliminate such nuisances as tape hiss.

tension cable. Balancing the left and right
channels may also be accomplished with these
controls.

IMPROVED SPIRAL CABLE This new spiral
cable is not curled near the headphones. So
it does not get in your way when you put the
set on.

Y-SHAPED EXTENSION CORD This twometer
long cable is supplied as standard equipment
and lets you sit a sufficient distance from your
amplifier while you listen, Its Y-shape also lets
one of your friends connect his (or her) head-
phone set to the same cable to enhance listen-
ing togetherness.

COMFORTABLE HEADBAND AND EAR
CUSHIONS The hand-sewn,foam-filled head-
band and ear cushions of the $350 easily fit
the contour of your head softly and comfortably
as its stainless steel end pieces slide in or out.
For added convenience, three click stops are
provided for adjustment.
