HIGH-FIDELITY STEREO HEADPHONE SET The virtues of being
alone have long been underrated. Or were until Sansui decided to do
something really meaningful about it. Now enter the 88-10 stereo head-
phone set, affectionately dedicated to those purists to whom stereo is
indeed a Very personal experience, ideally savored in princely solitude, far
from the maddening crowd. Equipped with newly developed mechanical
two-way speakers, this truly high-fidelity set reproduces a wide range of
frequencies from very, very low to ultra-high with uniform smoothness.
Few other stereo headphones on the market today are so discreet and so
solicitous of your undisturbed listening pleasure. The 58-10 direct
line set offers a host of attractive features, including separate volume

controls for each channel, identical left and right channel characteristics,
and hand-sewn so comfortable that its a very wise investment fromthat
standpoint alone. But Sansui is also very understanding about the
pleasures of stereo sharing, and providently thought to make the
direct line convertible to a party line". So that on those occasions
when theres something special youd like someone special to hear with
you, the 85-10 has a two-meter long Y-shaped extension cord equipped
with two jacks for connecting two sets of headphones. But whether
used in solitude, or adapted for sharing, the 55-10 stands alone as todays
best buy in stereo headphones.

MECHANICAL 2-WAY SPEAKERS: The unique,
newly developed mechanical 2-way speakers of
the 85-10 utilize large 8cm, special cone paA
pers for the low and middle range notes, and
quality polyester diaphragms that also cover the
high ranges. These enable the 88-10 to repro-
duce sound with an absolute minimum of inter-
modulation and harmonic distortion and a
maximum of transparency and resolution.

WIDE FREQUENCY RANGE: Thanks to the
mechanical 2-way speakers, the 8340 repro-
'duces a wide 20 to 20,000Hz range of sound,
from well-damped, powerful rich heavy bass
comparable to that reproduced by large speak-
ers, to delicate. transparent treble, all with ex-
ceptional smoothness.

IDENTICAL CHANNEL CHARACTERISTICS:
The 85-10 is designed to minimize the difference
in tonal quality andoutput sound pressure level
between the left and right channels, enabling
you to enjoy well-balanced stereo sound. Fur-
ther, unlike speaker systems, a stereo head-
phone set completely separates the left and
rightchannel sounds, so that the stereo separa-
tion is exceptional.

'SEPARATE VOLUME CONTROLS: Equipped
with a volume control on each ear pad, the SS-
10 saves you the trouble of standing up and
walking over to the amplifier each time you
wish to adjust the sound volume. It's especially
convenient when you are sitting far away from
the amplifier using the extension cord supplied.

Since the left and right channels can be sepa-
rately adjusted, adjustment of stereo balance
is also easily accomplished.

Y-SHAPED EXTENSION CORD WITH TWO

JACKS: The 8840 comes complete with a 2-
meter long extension cord to let you relax away
from the amplifier or tape deck. This cord is
provided with two jacks for connecting two
stereo headphone sets, so two persons can
listen together.

SPIRAL CORD: The connection cord of the SS-
10 is of the same curled spiral type as that used
with telephones. Though as long as 3 meters,
it never gets in your way.

HAND-SEWN EAR PADS: Made of specially-
treated soft plastic, theSS-lO's ear pads cover
the ears very softly and do not exert uncomfort-
able pressure on the wearer. These comfortable
pads seal out external sound and will not tire
the wearer even after hours of continuous
listening.

EASY-TO-USE, FUNCTIONAL DESIGN: The

length of the head band can be freely adjusted
to suit' the size of the head or ear positions of
each individual.
