BELT-DRIVEN DOUBLEARIM PLATTER: The
beltdrive system ensures even, smooth rota-
tions with a minimum of noise and rumble. Uti»
lizing a heavy 12~inch aluminum alloy die-cast
platter of the double-rim type to obtain a maxi-
mum flywheel efiect, this system permits the
platter to be directly driven by the motor, keep-
ing frictional and rotational parts to a bare mini-
mum. With this design, there is also far less
chance of breakdowns.

SANSUI'S ORIGINAL BELT PROTECTION
SYSTEM: First devised and adopted by Sansui,
this system eliminates any possibility of deforma-
tion to the drive belt by automatically interlock-
ing the speed changeover mechanism when the
Power Switch is turned ofl.

SENSITIVE. STATICALLY BALANCED TONE-
ARM: This statically balanced tubular tonearm
ofiers exceptional sensitivity as a result of mini-
mized frictional resistance and inertia efiiciency
of rotary parts. The employment oi ultra-
precision angular contact type bearings also aids
in giving it an exceptional tracking capability in
both vertical and horizontal directions.

FOURvPOLE SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR: The
SR-IOSOC is equipped with a quality 4~pole
motor that quietly maintains constant speeds in
the face of fluctuations in line voltage or load.
No fine-adjustments of speeds are ever neces-
sary. Special consideration has also been given
in the position and method of mounting the
motor to obtain an exceptional signal-to-noise
ratio.

PUSHBUTTON SPEED CONTROLS: Either of
the two available speeds is simply selected by
pushing the appropriate light pushbutton speed
control. Designed from the standpoint of human
engineering, both controls permit the selection
of the right speed with certainty even in the
darkness.

DUAL-PURPOSE CUING CONTROL: The SR}
1050C boasts a feather-touch cuing control that
doubles as a power switch. Lift it upright and
the turntable starts to rotate; pull it further to
ward yourself and the built~in arm elevation
mechanism gently lowers the tonearm onto the
record. The mechanism, a newly designed delayi
motion oil»damped type, not only withstands
sharp temperature changes. but prevents the
leakage that sometimes results from careless
handling with other oil~damped mechanisms.
And it does away with tonearm "dancing" above
the record. even it the cuing control is abruptly
switched on and oh.

PRECISION BALANCING MECHANISMS:
Equipped with a lateral balancer and an inside
force canceler. the tonearm can be readily
balanced with absolute precision.

STURDY ZINC DIEvCAST BASE FOR CON-
TROLS: This die-cast base avoids resonance,
yet firmly supports the tonearm and oil-damped
arm elevation mechanism. Reinforced with
special ribs, it offers extraordinary strength.
and completely eliminates the possibility of
warping or breaking,

GOLD-PLATED CONNECTION TERMINAL
PINS: Expensive goldlplated pins are employed
on the connection terminals of both the tonearrn
and the head shell. Overcoming one of the
weaknesses of past turntables, the new con-
nection terminals no longer get rusty even in
warm areas or areas along ocean coasts.

EXPENSIVE HEAD SHELL PROVIDED: The SR-
1050C is supplied with an expensive head shell
made of a special light alloy. Large holes are
punched in its top surface to make it as light
(8 grams) as possible; its edge is specially bent

to serve as a reinforcement rib {or added
strength; and the part that couples to the car-
tridge is doubly constructed to avoid resonance.

INDUCED MAGNET CARTRIDGE: The SR
10500 adopts a newly designed induced magnet
cartridge that delivers sound of superior tone
quality without distortion. It is equipped "\th
a linear type light cantilever so that its m .g
part is exceptionally light. The resulting high
compliance design makes for a significantly
better high-Irequency response. Other ad-
vantages include a big output voltage and the
capability of delivering highresolution trans
parent sound.

POWER INDICATOR LAMP: The SRIOSOC is
provided with a lamp that glows whenever the
turntable is in operation.

HOWLING-PREVENTION INSULATORS: Spe
cial rubber cushion insulators are attached on
the four corners of the bottom of the cabinet to
prevent howling.

BEAUTIFUL WALNUT CABINET: Like most
Sansui products. the $R~10500 makes use of
an expensive. open-pore finished walnut cabinet.
REMOVABLE SMOKED DUST COVER:/ \Ie
unit comes complete with a smoked acrylic dust
cover that can be opened or closed single»
handedly. For safety. it renders itself removable
only when opened to a certain angle.

ANTI-STATIC PLATTER MAT: Smooth trod,
this rubber sheet protects valuable records and
