Important

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the
following code:

Blue: Neutral

Brown: Live
it the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this equipment
should not correspond to the coloured markings identifying the
terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:

The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter 'N' or coloured black.

The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the termi-
nal which is marked with the letter L' or coloured red.

Ensure that your equipment is connected correctly, If you are in
any doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

For equipment purchased outside the U.K. with a "EUROPEAN"
two-pin mains plug, the plug should be removed and connections
made in accordance with the above instructions. Ensure also that
the equipment is properly adjusted to 240 volts operation. If you

Precautions

Bear in mind the following points.

a

Power plug

When disconnecting the power cord from the power outlet,
do not grasp the cord itself but the plug. Never connect or
disconnect the power plug with wet hands since you may
give yourself an electric shock.

Disconnect the power plug from the outlet when you do not intend
to use the unit for a long time.

Inside the unit

If a hairpin, coin or any other metal object finds it way in
sind the unit or if water is splashed over the unit, dis-
connect the power plug from the outlet immediately and
consult your dealer or SANSUI Service Station, Continued

use may result in trouble or electric shock.

Do not remove the case or bottom panel

Making inspections or adjustments inside the unit is the
cause of trouble and electric shocks. Do not, under any
circumstances, poke about inside the unit.

AC outlets

The maximum power capacity which may be supplied to
the AC outlets on the rear panel is 200W for the UN-
SWITCHED outlets and 200 W for the SWITCHED outlet.
It is extremely dangerous to connect an electrical appliance

having a power consumption exceeding the specified capacity. Before
connecting the appliance or components, check its power consumption
rating.

A high voltage flows to the AC outlets and so hairpins or other metal
objects must not be inserted since this will result in an electric shock.
Small children should not be allowed to play with these outlets.

Installation precautions

Do not install the unit in the types of location given below
since the units performance may deteriorate or trouble
may be caused.

0 Locations near heating appliances or other heat-radiat-

ing products, or locations exposed to direct sunlight.

Locations susceptible to humidity or moisture.

Poorly ventilated or dusty locations.

Locations susceptible to vibration or locations on a slope which are
unstable.

Do not use thinners for cleaning

Wipe the panels and case from time to time with a soft dry
cloth. Using thinners, alcohol or other volatile liquids can
spoil the surfacing or cause blotching on the exterior or
partial erasing of characters, and so they should never be

used. Also remember to keep insecticide sprays away from the unit.

Do not block the ventilation
holes

Do not place records or other
objects over the ventilation holes
on top of the unit. Blocking these
holes will raise the inside temperature which
may result in trouble.

This unit dissipates the heat most effec-
tively when installed on a flat surface, Do
not stand it up or install it at an angle. |

Connection precautions

" Before performing the connections, set the
POWER switch to OFF or disconnect the
power plug from the outlet.

*Check the left and right channels and align
them correctly (L to L and R to R).

Connect the plug correctly. Improper connec~
tion can cause noise.

Speaker systems

To SPEAKERS SYSTEM-A or B terminals,

connect speaker cords taking care not to con-

fuse the right channel with the left, the plus

polarity with the minus.

I Be sure that exposed leads are firmly secured
to the terminals.

Turntable

Connect your turntable to the PHONO ter-

minals. If your turntable is equipped with a

grounding cable, connect it to the unit's GND

terminal. But disconnect it if you notice in
creased hum.

I If your turntable has a crystal or ceramic care

tridge, connect it to AUX inputs, not PHONO
inputs.
AUX" means auxiliary, and the AUX inputs
have the same electrical function as the TAPE
PLAY inputs. They therefore connect a tape
deck, an adaptor for special cartridges, and
other equipment that has about the same
output level as the aforementioned compo-
nents.

Tuner
Connect the output terminals of a tuner to the
TUNER input terminals on the rear panel.

Tape deck

You can connect up to two tape decks to the
unit, Connect the unit's TAPE REC terminals
to the line input terminals of your tape deck,
and the unit's TAPE PLAY terminals to the
output terminals of the deck.

AC power outlets

This unit is provided with auxiliary AC outlets
which are handy for connecting a cassette deck
or turntable to supply power to these units.

SWITCHED (200W capacity): The power of
the connected components is Mitched on and
off when the units POWER witch is operated.

UNSWITCHED (200 W total capacity): The
power is supplied to the connected components
regardless of the position of the units POWER
switch.

Precautions a oonnexions

Enceintes

Pour les brones SPEAKERS SYSTEM-A ou -B,

connecter les cables des enceintes en prenant

bien soin cle ne pas confondre le canal droit et

gauche et la polarite positive avec la negative.

OBien s'assurer que les parties exposées des
conducteurs sont bien fixées dans les bornes.

Tourne-disque

Flaccorder votre tourned-disoue aux terminaux

PHONO. Ouand votre tournerdisque est muni

d'un cable de Mise a la terre, raccorder le sur le

terminal GND de l'appareil. Mais deconnectez Ie
si vous remarquez une augmentation anormale
du ronflement.

I Si votre tourne-disoue possede une cartouche
de Cristal ou céramique, la connecter aux
entree AUX au lieu des entrees PHONO.
AUX signifie auxiliarel les entrees AUX ont
la meme fonction eléctrique que les entrees
TAPE PLAY. Ellcs servant a brancher un mag-
nétophpne un adaptateur pour cartouches
spéciales et dautres équipements qui pm a
peu pres Ia méme puissance oue les compo-
sants mentiones ci-dessus.

Tuner

Connecter les bornes de sortie du tuner aUX
bornes dentree TUNER du panneau arriére de
I'appareil,

Magnétophone

Vous pouvez raccorder jusoua deux magneto»
phones sur i'appareil. Raccorder les bornes
TAPE REC de l'appareil aux pornes d'entrée
de votre magnétophone et les bornes TAPE
PLAY de l'appareil aux bornes de sottie de
votre magnétophone.

Prises d'alimentation CA

Get appareil est equipe de prises CA auxiliaires
qui sont pratiques, lorsque Ion veut brancher
un magnetocassette ou une platine tourner

VorsichtsmaiSnahmen beim Ansch-
lieflen

Bevor die Anschliisse vorgenommen werden,
den Schalter POWER auf OFF stellen oder
den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose Ziehen,
Beim Anschlieisen der Lautsprecher darauf
achten, dais sie seitenrichtig angeschlossen
werden (L an L und R an R).

*Den Stecker richtig einstecken. Unsachr
gemalser Anschluis kann Brummen verur
sachen.

Lautsprecherboxen

An die mit SPEAKERS SYSTEM-A oder -B
bezeichneten Klemmen sind die Lautsprecher-
kabel anzuschlielSen. dabei jedoch darauf
achtenl daB der rechte nicht mit dem linken
Kanal und der positive Leiter nicht mit dem
negativen verwechselt wird.

oDaraui achten, dais die blanken Leiter richtig

an den Klemmen gesichert sind.

Plattenspieler

Ihren Plattenspieler an die Buchsen PHONO

anschlielsen. Wenn lhr Plattenspieler mit einern

Erdungskabel ausgestattet ist, dieses an die

Erdungsklemme (GND) des Gerates anschlieflen;

falls iedoch dadurch der Brumn verstarkt wird,

das Erdungskabel wieder abklemmen.

oWenn lhr Plattenspieler einen Kristall- oder
Keramiktonabnehmer hat, so schlieiSen Sie
ihn bitte nicht an die PHONO-Eingange
sondern an die AUXrEingange an,
Die mit AUX bezeichneten Reserveeinga'nge
haben die gleiche elektrische Funktion wie die
TAPE PLAY Eingange. Daher kennen an diese
Eingange ein Tonbandgerat, ein Adapter fur
Tonabnehmer oder ein anderes Gerét (mit
ungefar dem gleichen Ausgangspegel, wie die
vorher erwahnten Komponenten) angesch-
Iossen werden.

Tuner

Schlleréen Sie die Ausgangsouchsen eines Tuners
und die Eingangsklemmen TUNER an der
G erateriickseite an,

Tonbandgerat

Sie konnen nach Wunsch bis zu zwei Tonbandr
gerate anschlieflen. Die Buchsen TAPE REC
dieses Gerates mit den Eingangs- und die
Klemmen TAPE PLAY mit den Ausgangsr
klemmen des Tonbandgerates verbinden_

Kaltgeratesteckdosen

Dieses Gerat ist mit zuséitzlichen Kaltgerate-
steckdosen ausgestattet, die zweckmarsigerwelse
zum Anschluls eines Cassettendecks oder eines
Plattenspielers verwendet werden konnen.
SWITCHED (200W Kapa t): Die ange-
schlossene Komponente wird durch Betatigen
des Schalter POWER des Gerates ein- und
ausgeschaltet.

UNSWITCHED (200W Gesamtkapazitati: Die
angeschlossene Komponente wird ohne Riickr
sicht auf die Stellung des Schalter POWER des
Gerates mit Strum versorgt.

NOTE: No AC outlet is provided on
units sold in some areas owing to local
laws and regulations.

REMAROUE: Aucune sortie AC (Cour-
ant Alternatif) néquipe les modéles
