AM antenna

This unit is provided with a built-in highly sensitive ferrite bar antenna.
This antenna is adequate for quality reception of nearby AM stations.
When you cannot obtain the desired results by the built-in ferrite bar
antenna only, connect a PVC cord to the AM antenna terminal,
extending it outdoor if possible.

FM antenna

Whenever possible. a Special outdoor FM antenna should be installed
for stable, noise-free reception of your favorite FM stations.

If the antenna input signals are very weak, then really good hi-fi
reception cannot be expected, even with units of the highest perform
ance. To get the very best performance out of your unit, it is necessary
to use an FM antenna similar to those used for television pick-up.
Install the outdoor FM antenna referring to "HINTS FOR BETTER
FM RECEPTION."

When using the "T" shaped feeder FM antenna. supplied with this unit,
as a temporary measure, connect it to the FM 30052 ANTENNA
terminals on the rear panel of the unit. Spread the antenna out in the
shape of a T. Then while listening to your favorite FM station,
change the direction and location until the position where optimum,
noise-free reception is obtained. and secure the antenna.

Grounding

If you connect a grounding lead to the grounding terminal marked
(3ND on the rear panel, the noise contained in radio broadcasts may
decrease. It may also keep external noises from creeping into the unit.
The grounding lead may be either standard PVC cord or enameled wire.
Attach a small copper plate or carbon rod to its end, and bury it deep
underground. Or if there is a special grounding wire or terminal in your
room, or if your water piping is of iron, the grounding lead may be
connected to them NEVER connect it to your gas piping.

MW-Antenne

Dieses Gerat hat eine eingebaute hochempfindliche Ferritstabantenne.
Diese Antenne ist ausreichend fiir Qualitatsempfnag von MW-Sendern in
der Nahe. Wenn Sie nur mit der eingebauten Ferritstabantenne nicht
den gewiinschten Empfang erhalten, so schlieBen Sie ein PVC-Kabel an
die MW-Antennenklemme an und leiten Sie es mpglichst bis ins Freie.

UKW-Antennen

Wenn moglich sollte eine spezielle UKW-AuBenantenne fiir stabilen,
stérungsfreien . Empfang ihres beliebtesten UKW-Senders installiert
warden.

Wenn die Antenneneingangssignale sehr schwach sind, kann selbst mit
den besten Geraten kein guter HiFi-Empfang geschehen. Fijr die beste
Betriebsleistung lhres Gerates ist die Verwendung einer UKW-Antenne
'ahnlich einer Fernsehantenne erforderlich. lnstallieren Sie die UKW-
AuBenantenne unter Bezug auf die HINWEISE FUR BESSEREN
UKW-EMPFANG". Wenn Sie die T-formige Drahtantenne, die mit dem
Gerét mitgeliefert wird, als vorlaufige Antenne fiir UKW verwenden, so
schliefSen Sie sie bitte an die Klemmen FM 300 Ohm ANTENNA auf
der Gerateriickseite an. Breiten Sie die Antenne in Form eines "T" aus
und andern Sie Richtung und Ort der Antenne, wahrend Sie lhren
beliebtesten U KW-Sender horen, bis Sie die Position for besten storung-
sfreien Empfang gefunden haben, und befestigen Sie die Antenne in
dieser Position.

Erdung

Wenn Sie eine Erdleitung an die mit GND markierte Erdungsklernme
anschliefSen, kann es sein, dafS die Stérungen in den Radiosendungen
abnehmen. Hierdurch kann auch das Eindringen auBerer Storungen in
das Gt rat verhindert werden.

Die Erdleitung kann entweder PVC-Kabel oder Emailledraht sein.
SchliefSen Sie ein kleines Kupferblech oder einen Kohlestab an das Ende
an und vergraben Sie es tief in der Erde. Falls in lhrem Baum ein
Erdungsdraht oder -anschluf3 ist, oder falls lhre Wasserleitung aus Eisen
ist, kénnen Sie es auch hieran anschlieBen. Schliefsen Sie es jedoch auf
keinen Fall an die Gasleitung an.
