HOW TO USE TUNER AMPLIFIER
RMX~70IRMX-70L AND CASSETTE
DECK HMO-70
POWER SOURCE
IMPORTANT! The HMX<70 con be powered
oithor trorn o household l.c. outlet (wall outlet),
or Item tho Rose! RV-CI (DC/DC converter) to
which 12-volt d.c. battery is connected.
None that tho FIMD-70, however, is powered
only through the special sockot provided on tho
rear panel at tho aux-70, and not in any other
woy. Bo sure to use only this spool-I sysum in
applying power to tho RMD-70.
RMX-70/RMX-70L
To supply power to the RMXJO, Plug the unit
mro a household wall outlet. Do not connect
the unit to a power source oI diflorent rating.

panel 01 the RMX-70 is provided wrth a socket
for DC/DC converter, through which 12~volt
dc. power supply flows to unit. Plug the DC/
DC converter Rotel RV-Cl (available separateA

volt d.c. battery leg. car battery) Ior powering
the RMX-70. In this can, the o.c. cord coming
from tho RMXJD must be unplugged from the
ac. mains.

If your unit comes with a 2-core cable
without a plug, make certain live and
neutral leads are connected to the proper
terminals, Check that the terminals are
screwed down Iirmly and no loose strands
01 wire are present.
IMPORTANT: The wires in this mains lead
are coloured in accordance With the Iollow
mg code:
BLUE: NEUTRAL
BROWN: LIVE
As the colours ol the wires in the mains lead
oI this apparatus may nor correspond with
the coloured markings identifying the
terminals in your plug proceed a lollows.
The wire which is coloured BLUE must be
connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter N or coloured BLUE or
BLACK. The wire which is coloured
BROWN must be connected to the terminal
which rs marked with the letter L or colour-
Led BROWN or REDt
RMD-70
The RMDJO is designed to operate only on
power supplied through the RMX-70's special
power supply socket. The square 4-pin plug
coming out at the rear panel ol RMD-7O should
be inserted into the power supply socket on the
rear panel ol the RMX-70. Never attempt to
connect the RMD~70 power cord to any power
outlet other than the special socket on the
RMX-70. ll the cord is plugged into a wall out~
let. etc, that may not only cause tailure ol the
unit, but also constitute a tire hazard.

PRECAUTIONS
1. The power supply socket on the RMX
70 is designed to accept the power plug tram
the RMD-70 only. Trying to insert any other
kind ol plug or object to this power socket will
cause serious trouble in the unit.
2. Place the RMX-70 and RMD-7O In a wella
ventilated location free Irom direct sunlimt,
vibrations, and circulating dust,
3. Should water or any foreign matter en-
ter the RMX-70 or RMD-70, immediately dis-
connect the wall plug and consult your dealer.
4. Do not open the cabinet. The construc-
tion inside is intricate and careless opening ol
the cabinet may cause trouble in the unit. It
could also cause electrical shock.
5. When unplugging the RMX-7o from a
wall outlet, first make sure the power switch on
the unit is turned off.
Also be sure to turn off the Standby switch on
the RMD-70 belore disconnecting the power
plug from the FlMX-70.
Make it a hlbll to hold the plug portion when
disconnecting the power cord, not the cord.
6. Return this instruction booklet along
with the warranty On the cover of this book
let, write down the serial numbers oI each piece
ol equipment Iound on the rear panels.
7. Cassette tapes:
0 To prevent possible trouble with the
transport mechanism. use at large size cassette
tapes, such as C-120, is not recommended.
o Handle cassette tapes With care. Keep
them away from heat, circulating dust, or a
magnetic lield leg. on the TV set).
0 Each cassette tape has salety tabs on
its back edge to prevent accidental re»recordirrg.
Tabs are provided lor both sides 0' cassette
tape. You cannot record on a side whose tab
has been removed. The tab can be removed
with a screwdriver, etc. It you wish to record
on a side with no tab. place a piece at adhe-
sive tape, etc. over the opening men; the tab
has been. then record.
o A loosened tape may cause trouble In
playback or recording. Check the tape betore
loading it Into the deck. ll it is slack, insert a
pencil or the like into either of casenes hubs,
and rotate it caretully until the slack is taken
