Outdoor Antenna Grounding - ll an outside antenna is connect-
ed to the receiver. be sure the antenna system is grounded so as to
provtde some protection against voltage surges and built up static
charges. Section 810 at the National Electrical Code. ANSI/NFPA No.
70-1984. provides inlormation With respect to proper grounding ol
the mast and supporting structure. grounding ol the lead-in wtre to
an antenna discharge unit. size olgrounding conductors. location at
antenna-discharge unit. connection to grounding electrodes. and re-
quirements Irom the grounding electrode. See Figure.
