LABEL CHECK (For DLXJN/NC Type)
WARNING !
THE AEL (ACCESSIBLE EMISSION LEVEL) OF THE LASER POWER OUTPUT IS LESS THAN CLASS 1
BUT THE LASER COMPONENT IS CAPABLE OF EMITTING RADIATION EXCEEDING THE LIMIT FOR
CLASS 1.
A SPECIALLY INSTRUCTED PERSON SHOULD DO SERVICING OPERATION OF THE APPARATUS.
LASER DIODE CHARACTERISTICS
FOR DVD: MAXIMUM OUTPUT POWER :5 mW
WAVELENGTH : 655 nm
FOR CD: MAXIMUM OUTPUT POWER :SmW
WAVELENGTH :785 rim
Printed on the Rear Panel
CLASS 1 CAUTION
LASER PRODUCT INVISIBLE LASER
RADIATION WHEN OPEN,
AVOID EXPOSURE
TO BEAM PRWiOis
Additional Laser Caution
1. Inside detection swrtch (8201 on the SMEB assy) and Ioadingr
é status detection sWitch (S9503 on the MOTOR assy) are detected
by the microprocessor (IC11 in the DVDM assy).
- To permit the iaser diode to osciIIate, it is required to set the
Inside detection swttch for the inSide position (8201 :ON) and to
set the Ioadrngrstatus detection switch for the damp position (the
center terminal of 89503 is shorted to +5V). The 655 nm iaser
diode Ior DVD oscillation wiII continue if pin 19 oI ICt is shorted
to +5V (fauIt condition) in the DVDM assy.
The 785 hm Iaserdiode for CD oscillates it pin 20 of I01 is shorted
to +5V in the DVDM assy.
In the test mode * , the Iaser diode osciIIates when microprocesr
sor detects a PLAY signal, or when the PLAY key is pressed
($5931 ON in the DISPLAY assy), With the above requirements
satisfied.
2. When the cover is open. close viewing through the objective lens
With the naked eye wiII cause exposure to the Iaser beam.
* : Refer to page 82 on the service manual RRV2329.
