This new Pioneer integrated amplifier is your musical passport
to the stunning adventure of tour-channel stereo. A total capa-
bility unit that provides up to 204 watts of musical power at4
ohms. the QA-aoOA permits the creation at a brilliant concert
hall acoustical iield in your own listening room without the
additional cost oi multiple stereo accessories. Its total oi tour
amplifiers. and matrix decoding circuitry. means that you may
create tour-channel sound irom any matrixed tour-channel
source on the market, as well as discrete four-channel sources
and conventional two-channel records and tapes. The (DA-800A,
thus. is capable oi decoding the popular SQ matrix records. as
well as many other diiierent tour-channel matrix systems. al-
though none at these systems have distinct compatibility. And
because of this versatility. it becomes a solid sound Investment
for the luture. The rich sound of tour-channel stereo is here now.
And Pioneers QA-800A gets you into this total sound picture
better than any 'other unit of its kind or price.

SO AND REGULAR MATRIX DECODER
Today there are almost as many matrix tour-channel systems as there are
manuiecturers-an uniortunete situation since none at these matrix systems
are compatible with the other. Pioneer's choice at matrix systems tor the
new OA-OOOA Vila based on research Into III the many kinds OI matrix
systems-and the decoding circuitry employed in this unit goes a long way
toward solving the iour~channel matrix contusion tor the audio ian.
Pioneer's matrix system Is actually a double system. One decoder is the
Regular Matrix type, which enable decoding at most itinds oi systems now
available. The other is the so system decoder with unique irontloack logic
circuit. tor exclusive tour-channel sound reproduction oi so matrix system-
encoded sound program. This trout/back logic circuit, employed in the
GA-BOOA. produces clear sound too ution and quite natural sound repro»
auction. The OAMA has add ional versatility, too, beyond its matrix
decoding iunction. You may use this unit tor discrete tour-channel program
sources. and also lor conventional two-channel sound sources. All in ell.
theres really not a matrlxed tour-channel sound source now on the market
that can't be used with Pioneer's OA-GOOA.
WIDE DYNAMIC SANGE HEADAMP SECTION
The OA-BOOA's head amp ieatures an extremely wide dynamic range owing
to its low noise. long-lite silicon transistors and two-stage direct coupled
circuit NFB equalizer. The result oi matching these components Is ex-
tremely low noise and a wide dynamic range. plus outstanding staoility.
CLICK STOP TYPE TONE CONTROL
Use oi low noise silicon transistors and click stop tone controls means that
precise settlnp ol all controls is possible with the OA-woA. Separate con-
trols lor both ironi and rear speakers. when the unit is used ior tour-chan-
nel stereo. are also provided.
BIG POWER AND WIDE POWER BANDWIDTN
The power amp section oi the OA-sooA lectures a quasi-complementary
single ended push-pull circuit utllixing ell high-periormance silicon trans-
istors. The unit provides a generous continuous power output oi 20 watts
xl i4 channels driven at 5 ohms). and is complemented by a remarkable
I5 to 50.000: power bandwidth (IHF. 9 ohms. 4 channels driven).
EXCLUSIVE PIONEER LEVEL CONTROLS
In addition to the master volume control oi the OA-wolt. which adjusts the
level oi all tour channels simultaneously. the unit is provided with tour
separate level controls, one Ior each channel. These control: make overall
balance adjustments extremely easy. and they are especially useiui when
trout and rear speakers oi diilerent sensitivities are used. The controls also
permit balance adjustments ior listening from any part oi the room. not only
the exact center.
VEfiseTILE INPUT TERMINALS
The QA-BOOA Includes two sets each at Phone, Tape and Aux inputs. with
the two Phono connections it is possible to compare two ditierent stereo
cartridges. The pair oI tap puts allows you to use both open real and
cassette decks simultaneously and accomplish tepe-to-tape duplication with
ease. There is also a rear speaker selector that permits a choice oi two
pairs oi speaker systems.
