You will get many years of pleasure from this quality stereo turn-
table. To get the most from this easy-to-use turntable, please read
the operating instructions and follow the directions indicated. For
the psychological benelit ot those who still want to use their
optional phono cartridges, no phono cartridge is equipped with this
turntable. The first thing you have to do is to attach your option
to a head shell referring to Attaching a phono cartridge" in the
instructions.

POPULAR BELT-DRIVE SYSTEM l

lhe Pioneer belt-drive system built into this unit owes its
popularity to the superior rotation speed stability and l
improved signalsto-noise ratio provided by the polyurethane

belt. This system is unallected by changes in temperature

and humidity. lhat is one ol the reasons for the outstand- i
ing performance of the PL] 5D.u.

The 4-pole synchronous motor which drives the PL-lSD-u's I
precision-lornred die-cast aluminum alloy platter assures

new levels ol smooth, rumble-Tree perlormanee With no I
speed variations.

ANTI~SKATING DEVICE ENSURES

PERFECT TRACKING

To keep the stylus tracking perlect along the center ol the
record groove (in other words, to compensate for the in-
ward thrust ol the tonearm), a specially developed spring-
activatcd anti-skating device is provided. Its cllect is to I
guarantee line channel separation when playing stereo
records.

DIRECTLY READABLE TRACKING FORCE
ADIUSTMENT I

The tracking force is adjustable over a wide range so that
practically any Cartridge (Cartridge Weight: 4g ~ 10g) r
can be accommodated.

S-SHAPED TONEARM

The light-weight and light-tracking toncarm is shaped for
almost perfect geometry and minimum tracking error.

GOOD DESIGN - A JOY TO LOOK AT

The main panels matted finish lends a soft, subdued touch
