12. Power-cord protection 7 Powersupply cards should be routed so
Ihal they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon
or against them. paying particular attention to cords at plugs. conve-
nience receptacles. and the pornt where they exil train the appliance.
Precautions

1. Warranty card
The serial number is written on the rear panel of this unit. Copy
the serial number and model number onto your warranty card
and keep it in a sale place.
2. Recording copyright
Recording of copyrighted material for other than personal use is
illegal without permission of the copyrighl holder.
3. AC fuse
The tuse is located inside the chassis and IS not user service
able. ll power does not come on, contact your ONKYO service
center.
13. Cleaning 7 The appliance should be cleaned only as recommended by
the manuiacturer.
14. Power lines 7 An outdoor antenna should be located away from power
lines.

unplugged from the outlet when Ieit unused for a long period of time
16. Object and Liquid Entry - Care should be taken so that objects do
not tall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through openings.
17. Damage requiring service - The appliance should be serviced by

4. Care
From time to time you should wipe off the front and rear panels
and the cabinet wrth soft cloth. For heavier dirt, dampen a soft
cloth in a weak solution of mild detergent and water, wring it out
dry, and wipe oil the dirt. Following this, dry immediately with a
clean cloth. Do not use rough material. thinners. alcohol or other
chemical solvents or cloths since these could damage the linish
or remove the panel lettering.
Note to CATV system installer:
This reminder is prowded to call the CATV system lnstaller's atten
tion to Article 820740 of the NEC, which prowdes guidelines for
proper grounding and, in particular, speCifies that the cable ground
shall be connected to the grounding system oi the building, as close
to the point of cable entry as practical.

0 During learning, the indicators flash when the same codes are
stable and cannot be memorized multiple times. To ensure the
reception at stable codes place both remote control units on a
table or other level surface and position them at a fixed distance
and orientation.
0 The Indicators may flash in case an audio devrce can be con
trolled by the existing remote control unit but the codes cannot be
memorized by the RCv230M. This is because the RCVZSOM
requires highly stable transmisston output for identifying codes
Replace the batteries of the existing remote control unit with new
ones, then repeat the learning operation.
0 It the indicators flash when a key is pressed, it means that the
RC-230M batteries are worn out. Replace its batteries With new
ones,

, Set the USE/LEARN Selector switch to LEARN.
Switch A/B/C (SUB ROOM) Selector swrtch to A or B you want to
reset.
, Press the key you want to delete to light up PRESS MATCHING
KEVS indicator.
Remove the battery compartment cover.
/ Use the tip ol a pointed instrumentsuch as a ballpoint pento
press the Reset swrtch (indicated by the "RESET" in the battery
case), then release the switch when the PRESS MATCHING
KEYS" indicator goes out. The reset operation is completed.
i Attach the battery compartmento cover again.
i When the key is reset,the preset ONKYO codes will be recalled.
0 Repeat step 3» to :5; to reset other keys if desired.
