8 Playback 400 Hz AC Volt- Playback Main 1. Load a 400 Hz level tape. play it
Frequency Level Tape meter to Eq. - 70 us P.C.B. back, and read the playback level.
Response (DA09DOSB) Output Dolby NR - VRlOG 2. Load 10 kHz, 15 kHz and 20 kHz PB
Adjustment 10 kHz PB Jacks OFF VRZOG frequency response tapes and play
Frequency MPX - OFF them back. Adjust the record/play-
Response back head azimuth to obtain maximum
Tape readings for both channels on the
(DAOQOOSB) AC voltmeter with each tape.
15 kHz PB Check that the playback levels are
Frequency as follows with respect to the level
Response for [500 Hz level tape.
Tape 10 kHz: -20 dB -2 to +2 dB
(DA090023) 15 kHz: -20 an -2 to +3 as
20 kHz PB 20 kHz: -20 dB -2 to +4 d3
Frequency If the level at 20 kHz is out of the
Response range, adjust VR106 (VRZOG) to obtain
Tape satisfactory results. VR106 (VRZOS)
(DA090013) compensates the playback frequency
response at 20 kHz as shown below:

3. Conduct step 6 "Record/Playback Head
Azimuth Alignment".
9 Bias None Frequency Record,Pause Main 1. Connect an additional 0.1 ohm resistor
Oscillation Counter Eq. - 70 ps P.C.B. in series to the Erase Head and

and Erase terminals Dolby NR - C317 2. Adjust T301 to obtain 105 kHz :1 kHz
Current 1 and 2 OFF C318 on the frequency counter.
Adjustment of CN2 on MPX - OFF If bias oscillation frequency is above
Main P.C.B. W304 106 kHz, short-circuit C317 and C318,
and and re-adjust T301 again.
AC Volt- 3. Adjust W304 to obtain 17.5 mV (175 nA)
meter on the Ac voltmeter. (16.5 1 1 mV (165

additional A. After completion of the erase current:
0.1 ohm adjustment, re-check the bias
resistor oscillation frequency.
5. Remove the additional 0.1 ohm resistor.
10 Bias Trap None AC Volt- Same as Main Adjust L103 (1.203) to obtain minimum
