CONGRATULATIONS
You now own one of the finest musical pedals made, the
-Morley Slimline Echo Volume (SLEV) or (SLEV-6). To insure
your satisfaction please take a few moments to read this
booklet which.points up features of the product that may
be new to you. Above all, we hope you enjoy your new
Morley as much as we enjoyed building it for you.
GENERAL INFORMATION
All Morley Slimline pedals control electrical signals with
(LED) light sources and electro-optical resistors which
do not wear or make mechanical or electrical noise. They
last for many, many years with no maintenance.
The power source for the pedal is either battery or AC
line operated adapter. whichever is more convenient. The
pedal uses two nine volt batteries. This is especially
useful for traveling musicians who encounter line noises.
varying voltages, and power conditions in different parts
of the world. The line adapter is available in 120 and
240 volt models and delivers power to the Morley at 12 to
16 volts DC negative ground. When the adapter is plugged
in. the batteries are automatically disconnected.
Tower is turned off with a switch or by removing the
plug from the-amplifier jack. This double precaution
prevents the battery fran being inadvertently run down.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1 - Connect the musical instrument to the pedal by
plugging one end of a shielded cable to the instrument
and the other to a jack labeled "Instrument" on the
side of the pedal.
2 ~ Use another shielded cord between the jack marked
'Anplifier on the side of the pedal and the input
of your music amplifier.
3 - Set the controls on your instrument and your amplifier
to their usual settings.
4 - There are three control knobs on the Slimline Echo
Volume pedals, "Repeat,"Mix", and "Delay". Set
them at 12 o'clock (indicator mark pointing straight
up .
5 - There is an indicator lamp (LED) and foot operated
switch on the right side of the pedal. Push the
switch so the LED is on.
You are now ready to use the pedal.
USING THE ECHO
with the treadle tilted so the heel is all the way down
(toe up). any signal sent through the pedal will pass
unaltered (dry). Push the treadle so it is approximately
horizontal. Make a short sound such as plucking a string,
or hit a key and innmdiately mute it. You should hear
one echo after the original sound. Pushing the toe
further down will increase the number of repeats. If,
when the toe is all the way down, more repeats are desired
the knob marked Repeats" can be advanced until runaway
self sustaining repeats are produced. Moving the toe
up will stop them at any time, and with the toe all the
way up, the signal will again go dry.
The delay time or speed at which the echo repeats is
controlled with the knob marked "Delay". Turned all the
way clockwise it will produce the longest delay or
slowest echo. Turned counter clockwise it will produce
faster, shorter delays.
Advancing the "Mix" knob will make the echo louder in
relation to the direct signal.
The shortest delay is 20 milliseconds. The longest delay
on the SLEV is 300 milliseconds. The longest delay on
the SLEV-E is 600 milliseconds.
TO OPERATE AS A VOLUME PEDAL
Push the foot switch to turn the LED off. The unit will
now operate as a Volume pedal.
SPECIAL NOTE
We highly reconnend the use of alkaline type batteries.
Their much longer life makes them more economical than
other types. In addition, they are unlikely to leak
damaging chemicals.
Use of the adapter eliminates battery expense.
