Adluotlng the Speed

An illuminated stroboscope Is built into the turntable edge oi
the L833 DD. The upper ring at the stroboscope is for control
ol 33% rpm and the lower ring is tor 45 rpm at a mains fre-
quency of 50 [Hz]. The two lower rings enable the above speeds
to be controlled at 60 [Hz] mains frequency. The speed can be
adjusted with the control knob. When this knob is in the position
«-~. the turntable revolves approximately 4 We] slower and in
position «+-, approximately 4 [lo] taster. Any desired speed
within the quoted ilmits ls available between the extreme posl
tlons of the knob. This Is important in case. tor example. a
musical instrument is to be played at the same time as a record.
The speed is correctly set when the rim of the turntable corre-
sponding to the correct speed remains stationary. When Lenco-
clean «L» ls being used, the speed must be checked and it
necessary regulated.

The bearings built into the unit are sell-lubricating and require
no further attention. The stylus should be kept free of tlulf and
dust. A small, soft brush Is recommended for this purpose.

Caution: It is important that brushing of the stylus be done in
one direction only. from the rear edge of the head-shell car-
tridge to the front if damage to the stylus system is to be
avoided. Use of the Lencoclean Record Cleaning System will.
however. keep the stylus clean so that further cleaning Is not
usually necessary. At intervals of approximately one year the
stylus should be inspected under a microscope by an expert.
Worn or damaged styli points cause not only distorted repro-
duction but also serious damage to your records.
