Operation with an
Open Reel Recorder

Installation

Plug the mains supply cable of your recorder
into the A_C, outlet socket on the rear panel
or connect directly to your mains supply Plug
the recorder connecting lead into the socket
labelled TAPE on the rear panel.

Operation

Refer to the general operating instructions on
page 14 of this handbook.

Replay

Depress the front panel push button labelled
TAPE and operate your recorder in the replay
mode according to the manulacturers
instructions. Remember to release the TAPE
button when listening is complete.

Recording

Depress the front panel push button for the
sound source you wish to record (6.9.

disc). Operate the tape recorder in the record
mode according to the manufacturers
instructions. The programme will then be
automatically recorded, and the recording is
independent of the tuner amplifier controls,
With the TAPE button OUT, you will hear

the original programme through the speakers.
If your tape recorder is fitted with separate heads
for record and replay you can listen to an
immediate replay ol your recording while it is
taking place by depressing the TAPE button.
You can thus ensure that the recording you are
making is satisfactory without interfering with
the recording process. This process is called
monitoring. When monitoring is complete,
ensure that the TAPE button is released.

It is not possible to dub from open reel to
cassette with the recorders connected to the
normal inputs. The cassette recorder must be
plugged into the TAPE socket and the open reel
tape recorder into the CASSETTE socket.

AUXILIARY INPUT

The auxiliary input on the rear of the tuner
amplifier may be used for any additional pieces
of equipment required leg. shortwave tuner
etc,l, Input sensitivity is selected by the button
above the socket (140 mv out 550 mV in).
Connection is to international DIN standard
and the function is selected by depressing the
button marked AUX on the front panel.
