UNPACKING
Examine the unit for any possibility of ship-
ping damage. If your unit is damaged or fails to
operate, notify your dealer immediately. If your
unit was shipped to you directly, notify the
shipping company without delay. Only the con-
signee (the person or company receiving the
unit) can file a claim against the carrier for ship-
ping damage.
We recommend that you retain the original
carton and packing materials for use should you
transport or ship the unit in the future.
INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS
(3) Avoid locations subject to direct sunlight.
(b) Avoid high or low temperature extremes.
(c) Make sure power is off before making any
system connections.
WARNING:
TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK
HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS
APPLIANCE TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.
POSITION OF THE SPEAKER
For best reproduction, it should be placed in
the corner of a room. If this is not possible, it
should at least be placed against a wall.
Bookshelf type speakers should not be plac-
ed directly on the floor as bass response will be
insufficient when so positioned. Also sound ef-
fect will be poor since the speakers are placed
below the ears of the listener.
Bookshelf speakers should be placed on ful-
ly packed, sturdy bookshelves. Avoid thin
shelves that may vibrated and cause poor bass
response. If bookshelf speakers must be placed
on the floor, be sure to put them on bricks or
concrete blocks which are hard and heavy.
SYSTEM CONNECTION
When connecting or disconnecting speakers
from an amplifier, the amplifier must be turned
off.
This speaker system has a nominal im-
pedance of 8 ohms, and will operate satisfac-
torily with an amplifier whose output im-
pedance is within the range of from 4 to 16
ohms. Connect the input terminals on the rear
of each speaker to the speaker output terminals
on the rear of the amplifier. Be sure to connect
the ® terminal of the amplifier to the GB terminal
of the speaker, and likewise the respective G) to
terminals.
