Introduc tion
Before applying power
Units are dsigned for operation as follows.
U.5.A. and Canada .. A C 120V only
Australia ..................... A C 240 V only
For the United Kingdom
Factory fitted moulded mains plug
1. The mains plug contains afuse. Forreplacement, use
only a 3-Amp ASTA-approved (BS 1362) fuse.
2. The fuse cover must be refitted when replacing the
fuse in the moulded plug.
3. Do not cut off the mains plug from this equipment. If
the plug fitted is not suitable for the power points in
your home or the cable is too short to reach.
A power point, then obtain an appropriate safety
approved extension lead or adapter, or consult your
dealer. lf nonetheless the mains plug is cut off,
remove the fuse and dispose of the plug immediately,
to avoid a possible shock hazard by inadvertent.
Connection to the mains supply.
IM PORTANT :
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance
with the following code:
Blue : Neutral
Brown : Live
Do not connect those leads to the earth terminal of a
three-pin plug.

The marking of products using lasers

The marking is located on the rear panel and says that
the component uses laser beams that have been clas-
sified as Class 1. It means that the unit is utilizing laser
beams that are of a weaker class. There is no danger of
hazardous radiation outside the unit.

Guidance of M P3
Media thatcan be played back with this equipment
Usable media: CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW

Creating media for playing back on this equipment
Compressing M P3
Please set up the transfer bit rate setting for the compression software when compressing M P3 files as follow.
M P3 Files : 128kbps recommended (32kbps-320kbps)
o This unit is compatible with 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz(recommended) and 48 ld-lz sampling frequencis.
Naming folders and files
Single-byte characters between A and Z singlebyte numerals between 0 and 9, and the singlebyte underscore(_) can be
displayed. ensure that the .M P3" (M P3 files) extension log is attached to all file names.
0 Never add the MP3 extension log to any fils other than MP3 fila. If the MP3 extension log is added to any files
other than MP3 file, the equipment will assume that they can be played back, and this will produce loud noises
in the speakers, rsulting in damage of adverse efiects.
Confirming media and files
Checkto ascertainthat M P3files can be played backcorrectly on the personal computerin use pn'orto saving them onto the media.
Check to ensure that the saved file can be played back normally.
0 It is not possible to confirm that film can be played back conectly while they are being saved onto the media.
When saving files onto media
Ensure that the session is closed orfinalized when data has been written on media. There are cases where media on which the
session has not be closed or finalized will not be played back correctly with this equipment.
0 There are case were the folder nams and file names will not be displayed correctly depending on the software
used to save them.
0 Do not store fils or folders other than MP3 on media to be played back with this equipment.
0 It is recommended that ten or las sessions are stored when recording MP3 fils onto a media.
0 There are cass where playback is not possible when MP3 file (CD-ROM) and music CD infomation (CD-DA) are
saved on the same media.
