Unpacking
Unpack the unit carefully and make sure that all accessories are put aside so they will not be lost.
Examine the unit for any possibility of shipping damage. If your unit is damaged or fails to operate,
notify your dealer immediately. if your unit was shipped to you directly, notify the shipping company
without delay. Only the consignee (the person or company receiving the unit) can file a claim against
the carrier for shipping damage.
We recommend that you retain the original carton and packing materials for use should you transport
or ship the unit in the future.

High-Speed Track Selection (TOC)
With a MiniDisc, a desired song can be selected
at a high speed, as in the case of a CD. This is
\ 2 because the song numbers and titles are stored in

Sound-skip prevention memory
During Playback the unit accumulates signals in its memory for a given period of time. As a
result, music can be played back without sound skips - even when the unit receives an impact
from an external source or when the signal from the optical pickup is interrupted.

Auto Power Save Function
This unit is equipped with a Nonskip Playback Memory to minimize the number of skips that occur
during playback because of impacts
In order to conserve battery life when the unit is powered by rechargeable batteries or alkaline
batteries. a short audio signal storage time is set. This is called the Auto Power Save function.
When the unit is used in locations where impacts are likely to occur, skips can be minimized by
turning the Auto Power Save function oft. With the function off, the total continuous playing time
of the unit will be about 20% less than normal.
Changing the Auto Power Save Setting
Press and hold down the DISPLAY key on either the unit or the remote control for at least 2
seconds. Operation changes as follows each time the key is pressed:
