The STH-lOE operates over a wide 20 to 20,000Hz frequency
range and has a distortion factor of less than 170 at rated Output
1mW . Featuring a moving coil design. each headphone has f0ur
holes in the back of the speaker. three of them blocked to better
achieve a flat frequency characteristic. Each is also equipped
with a large 70mm diaphragm to obtain better radiation effects
even at the lowest frequencies. The STHJOE also features an
adjustable headband and ultra-soft ear pads. for increased com-
fort and enjoyment.

Dynamic Ton. Quality
The STH-lOE, a moving coil type set, features 70mm dia-
phragms which allow excellent radiation at l0w frequency levels.
Their parabolic-Curve shape permits a wide 20 to 20.000Hz in
frequency response. and the special acoustic design helps render
a flatter frequency characteristic.
Doublmcushion Ear Pads
The STHAIOE's ear pads c0ver both the inside and outside of the
ears, fitting the ear holes perfectly, thus preventing heavy bass
50und below SOHz from escaping. The inner cushions effectively
damp the resonance occming in the front cavity and prevent
p055ible peak and dip in the important midranges.
Moving Coil Typo Speakers
Each moving coil type speaker in the STH-IOE has four 12mm
diameter rOund holes, three of them plugged with felt to damp
the resonance in the rear caVity and further insure a flat frequency
characteristic without a peak or dip.
Parabolic~curvod Diaphragms
These are one of the secrets to the STHJOE's wide frequency
response. which reaches as high as 20.000Hz. They enable the
set to offer an impedance characteristic that remains flat almost
over its entire frequency response range. with only a slight rise
at the high end. As a result provided a good protection resistOr

efficient, the STH-IOE produces inescapably finer stereo scund at
an input of only 1 or 2 millivwatts.

A Design to Do Hoard From

As the illustration indicates, the headband is completely adjust-
able f0r individual head and ear positioning. and can be tilted
right or left as desired. JVC has used soft artificial leather and
double cushion design on the ear pads for maximum comfort.
