INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing JVCs new KD-VS
stereo cassette deck. Read this instruction book
carefully before starting operation to be sure of
getting optimum performance and longer service
life from the unit.

4) If, after the tabs have been removed. you wish
to erase a recording and make a new recording,

cover the hole with adhesive tape.

5) Do not store cassette tapes where there is a
magnetic field (e.g. near a TV, etc.) or in a
place subject to high temperatures or humidity.

4. Cleaning the cabinet

Never use benzine or thinner for cleaning the cab-

inet as they may damage the surface finish.

5. Auto Tape Select mechanism

The deck is provided with an Auto Tape Select
mechanism. As shown in the illustration, this
mechanism sets the playback equalizer (E0) level
automatically by detecting the holes of the cas-

sette.

O Cassettes with the detection holes:
Metal tape (E0 : 70 us)
CrO, (chrome) tape (E0: 701.45)

0 Cassettes without the detection holes:
Normal tape (E0 : 120 us)

4) Wenn Sie nach der Entfernung der Kunststoffzungen
eine Aufnahme Iéschen Oder eine neue machen mochten,
so Liberkleben Sie die Sicherheitsfenster 'mit einem
Klebeband.

5) Lagern Sie lhre Cassetten nicht in der Néhe eines magne»
tischen Feldes (LB. auf einem Fernsehapparat etc.)
oder an heifSen Oder feuchten Orten.

4. Heinigung des Gehauses

Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung des Gehéuses niemals Benzin
oder Verdiinner, weil sonst die Gehauseoberflache besché-
digt werden kénnte.

5. Automatischer Bandart-Wahlmechanismus

Das Deck ist mit einem automatischen Bandart-Wahlme-
chanismus ausgestattet. Wie aus der Abbildung ersichtlich,
wahlt dieser Mechanismus durch Abtasten der Lécher der
Cassetten automatisch den Wiedergabe-Entzerrpegel.

Turn the pencil to tighten the tape.

4) Si vous sauhaitez effacer un enregistrement ou faire un
nouve/ enregistrement sur une cassette dam vous avez
reriré (es languettes, // suffit de recouvrir Ies traus aVEC
d9 /adhesif.

5/ Ne pas entreposer les cassettes dans un endroit expose'
a un champ magnetique (par example, a proxim/té dun
téléviseur) ou bier: a des temperatures ou une humidité
excess/lies.

4. Nettoyage du boitier
Ne iamais utiliser de benzine ou de diluent pour nettoyer le
coffret car ces produirs risquent de lendommager.

5. Mécanisme de selection automatique de bande

Le magnétophane est e'quipé dun mécanisme de selection
automatique de bands. Comme montre sur Iil/ustration,
des trous spec/aux de la cassette sent repérés par le magne-
tophane et il est rég/é pour carriger automatiquement Ie
campensa teur de lecture.
