IMPORT-ANT?
Do not make any connection to the Larger Terminal coded
E or Green. The wires in the mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
Blue to N (Neutral) or Black
Brown to L (Live) or Red
If these colours do not correspond with the terminal
identifications of your plug. connect as follows:
Blue wire to terminal coded N (Neutral) or col0ured Black
Brown wire to terminal coded L (Live) or coloured Red.

CAUTION
0 When you are not using the recorder for a long period of
time. it is recommended that yoa disconnect the power cord
from the AC outlet.

Video tapes recorded with this video recorder in the LP
(Long Play) mode cannot be played back on a single-
speed video recorder.

WARNING
Regarding SNHS recordings:
Since the S-VHS Euro System is a unified standard. S.VHS
recordings are the same regardless of whether the original signal
is PAL or SECAM. However. this recorder operates only in the
VHS mode tor recording a SECAM signal.
1. S-VHS recording is not possible when the input signal is
SECAM.
2. When this is attempted. the S-VHS indicator goes all and the
VHS recording circuit is automatically engaged.
3. The resulting tapes have the same limitations as described in
'Regarding VHS recordings'.
Regardlng VH3 recordings:
There are two diilerent types oi SECAM colour systems: SECAM-
L. used in FRANCE (also called SECAM-West). and SECAM-B.
used in the GRD. eg. (also called SECAM-East).
1. This recorder can also receive SECAM~B colour television
signals for recording and playback.
2. Recordings made at SECAM-B television signals produce
monochrome pictures it played back on a video recorder oi
SECAML standard. or do not produce normal colour pictures it
played back on a PAL video recorder with SECAM-B system
incorporated (even it the TV set is SECAM-oompatible).
3. SECAM-L prerecorded cassettes or recordings made with a
SECAM-L video recorder produce monochrome pictures when
played back with this recorder.
4. This recorder cannot be used tor the SECAM-L standard. Use

SOUND MENU SYSTEM
This recorder incorporates a sound processor with tour modes
- STEREO WIDE MUSIC, STEREO WIDE THEATER.
SIMULATED STEREO MUSIC. and SIMULATED STEREO
THEATER - selectable via a Sound Menu system. To provide
the best possible performance with music programmes. the two
MUSIC modes boost both lows and highs, while In the two
THEATER modes. only lows are boosted to better reproduce
movies soundtracks. In the SIMULATED STEREO modes,
monaural soundtracks become simulated stereo, while in the
STEREO WIDE modes stereo soundtracks become
stereowide. Select the desired mode according to your
preference.
