The Z-GOO is the culmination of ten years of dovelnw
ment and evaluation etlorts aimwl solely at achieving
maximum aural clai . definition and range in land-
speaker design. Toward this end. our engineers were
given no budget limitations. Their oiily mandate was
to produce an integrated speaker tem for home use
that would reproduce every mu, al or vocal sound
with the utmost realism permitted by modern materials
technology.

How beautifully they have achieved this goal can be
determined best by subjecting the 2-600 System to the
most rigorous, varied, and lengthy program source»

The clean, uncolored treble of the 2-600 is
reproduced by a pair of JansZen Series 130
Electrostatic mid/high range radiators which
have been matched to within :1 db. Each
electrostatic radiator contains 176 push-pull
sheathed conductors. Mounted in opposing
arrays, these conductors provide uniform forces
to laterally move the eight sensitive diaphragms
with the same amplitude and in the same phase
over their entire surfaces. Like ideal acoustic
pistons, the diaphragms behave as if they had
neither stifi'ness nor mass~in short, as if they
were not there at all. In the console cabinet,
the electrostatic elements are tilted upward
7-degrees to project high frequencies properly
over a broad horizontal axis.

Low frequencies are reproduced by our Model
35013 dynamic woofer-the only cone woofer
specifically-designed to match the low distor-
tion, transparent characteristics of the JansZen
Electrostatic In the 2-600. this remarkable
woofer has been further refined to provide
optimum, peak the new, compact console cabinet. The light-
mass cone of the woofer is effectively weighted
at the apex to give smooth roll-off above 2000
cycles without the intrusion of transient-
degrading crossovers. A flexible rim of foam-
treatcd cloth attaches the cone to the cast
aluminum frame and allows 5x piston-like
cone excursions without breakup or doubling
at any frequency. This unique cone is so per-
fectly controlled by a 10,000 geuss magnet
structure that it will handle musical powers
up to 100 watts.
