INSTRUCTIONS:

The woofer and tweeter elements come already mounted on a half inch board which can be utilized as the front
panel of a standard equipment cabinet, for built-in custom system, or cabinet of your own making, as suggested in
Dwg. #3. If it is found desirable to mount the woofer-tweeter components in a different position to each other, the
tweeter can be removed from the board and mounted as desired. For instance, It is not uncommon to place the
tweeter horizontally to the woofer.

INSTALLATION FROM THE REAR-Dwg.

Usually applicable when mounting in an equipment cabinet where easy entry from the back exists. Normally
the front panel of this cabinet is larger than that of the JAN-KIT panel, therefore you merely cut a square hole
12" x 17% in your existing panel and screw the JAN-KIT panel tightly on the back, as per the drawing. A seal
ing compound should be used to prevent air leaks. For optimum performance, the cabinet should be at least 2
. cubic feet in volume.

INSTALLATION FROM THE FRONT-Dwg.#2

Where you are mounting in an existing shelf, cabinet, or wall area where there is no access to the rear, the
panel should be set over an opening of 13/z x 18 on a frame or panel sized to fit whatever front space you have
available. This frame should be set back into the opening enough to allow for the half inch thickness of the

JAN-KIT panel.

Dwg. #3 shows atypical cabinet which you may want to build yourself. However, the JAN-KIT will work well
in any well-made cabinet of any shape of 2 cubic feet or more.

IN ALL CASES THE QUALITY OF REPRODUCTION CAN BE ENHANCED BY THE FILLING 0R
LINING OF THE CABINET WITH FIBERGLAS AND BY GOOD ATTENTION TO THE SEALING OF
AIR LEAKS WITH SEALING COMPOUND.
