1i Lightweight, straight pipe design
All the robust characteristics of the 6 mm diameter alloy
straight pipe utilized in the design of the earlier 6-707
model have been retained. with a new process for additional
rigidity. This has been achieved by a new straight pipe
model with low mass and effective suppression of resonance.
2) Lightweight headshell employing plugsin system
We have developed 8 pl ug-in headshell which has succeeded
in eliminating the dead mass found in many types of
European headshell connectors. This also has the advan-
tages of eliminating electrical misconnection or resonance
at the connection point. The headshell itself is composed
of specially hard-processed 2 mm thick aluminum alley.
The finger grip is a unified part of the headshell and is
tapered toward the end to reduce undesirable resonance.
All of these features contribute to arm performance that
compares favorably with integrated pickup units.
3) Ultra-high precision gimbal support
The pivot points incorporate ultra-high precision micro
bearings which have been finished to an extremely fine
degree of tolerance. The arm support system is by a
proven gimbal support system. similar to the types utilized
in aeronautical gyroscopic equipment: because its vertical
and horizontal parts all move under identical conditions,
this system is ideal for stereo discs.
4) Adjustable anti-skating
This feature reduces distortion-causing inside force to
ensure stable stylus tracking from the outer to the inner
grooves of the record. The anti-skating can be fixed in
place by means of a locking knob while horizontal balance
adjustments are being made.
5) Combined arm/arm rest
The arm rest has been made an integrated part of the
unit, so there is no need for additional drilling or extra
assembly steps.
