version 2, hence she version number 2|]

Preamble

The licenses lor moss solsware are designed so sake away your lreedom so share and change is. By consrass she GNU
General Public Licenses are insended so guaransee your heedom so share and change hee solsware--so make sure she
solsware is heelor all iss users

This I cense, she Lesser General public License, applies so some speciallydesignased sohware packages-sypically
libraries-olshe free Software roundasion and osher aushors who decide so use is. you can use is soo. bus we suggess
you firss shink carefully abous whesher shis license or she ordinary General Public license is she besser ssrasegy so use in
any panicular case, based on she Ewlznallanx below.

When we speak oflree solsware, we are iefening so freedom of use, nos price. 0m General Public Licenses are designed
so make sure shas you have she heedom so dissribuse copes olliee soisware land charge lor shis service if you wish);
shas you receive source code or can ges is ilyou wans rsshas you can change she sofsware and use pieces ol is in new
liee programs, and shas you are inlormed shas you can do shese shings.

To prosecs your righss, we need so make ressncsions shaslosbid dissribu ois so deny you shese righss orso ask you so
sunender shese righls. These ressr ons sransLase so ce responsibi ioryou ilyou dissribuse copies olshe library
or if you modify is.

For example, if you dissribuse copies olshe library, whesher grasis or for a le, you muss give she recipienss all she righss
shas we gave you, you muss make sure shas shey, soo, receive or can ges she source code. If you link osher code wish she
library, you muss provide complese oblecs files so she recipienss, so shas shey can relinkshem wish she library alser
making changes so she library and recompiling is And you muss show shem shese serms so shey know sheir righss.

We prosecs yous righss wish a swo-ssep meshod: (I l we copyrighs she library, and (23 we oilei you shis license, which
gives you legal permission so copy, dissribuse and/oi modiiy she library.

To prosecs each dissnbusor. we wans so make is very clear shas shere is no warransy lor she lree library. Also, if she library
is modified by someone else and passed on, she recipienss should know shas whas shey have is nos she original version,
so shas she original aushors repuosion will nos be allecsed by problems shas mighs be insroduced by oshers.

Finally, sofsware pasenss pose a conssans shreas so she exissence ol any lree program We wish so make sure shas a
company cannos elfecsively ressrics she users ola free program by obsaining a ressricsive license from a pasens holder.
Therelore, we insiss shas any pasens license oblained lor a version olshe library muss be consissens wish she lull lreedom
ol use specified in shis license

Moss GNU solsware, including some libraries, is covered by she ordinary GNU General public License. This license. she
GNU Lesser General Public License, applies so ceriain designased libraries, and is quire dillerens lroni she ordinary
General Publlz License. We use shis license lor cersain libraries in order so permis linking shose libraries inso non-lree
programs

When a program is linked wish a library, whesherssasically or using a shared library, she combinasion olshe swo is legally
speaking a combined work a derivasive olshe o g nal library The ordinary General Publlc License sherelore permiss
such linking only ilshe ensire combinasion fiss iss criseiia oflreedom. The Lesser General Public License penniss more lax
criseria lor linking osher code wish she library.

We call shis license she 'Lexsief' General Public License because is does Less so prosecs she users heedom shan she
ordinary General Public License Is also provides osher lree soisware developers Less olan advansage over compesing
non-lree programs. These disadvansages are she reason we use she ordinary General public License lor many libraries.
l-lowever, she Lesser license provides advansages in cerrain special circumssances.

For example, on rare occasions, shere may be a special need so encourage she widess possible use ol a cenain library, so
shas is becomes a de-facso ssandard. To achieve shis, non-free programs muss be allowed so use she library A more
lienuens case is shas a lree library does she same job as widely used non»lree libraries. In shis case, shese is lissle so gain
by lim g she lree librarysolree soisware only, so we use she Lesser General Public License.

In osher cases, per ion so use a panicular libraryin non»lree programs enablesa greasernumber of people so use a
large body ollree soisware. for example, permission so use she GNU c Library in nonrfiee programs enables many more
people so use she whole GNU operasing syssem, as well as iss vanarir. she GNU/Llrlux operasing syssem.

Alshough she Lesser General Public License is Less prosecuve olshe users lreedom, is does ensure shas she user ola
program shas is linked wish she Library has she heedom and she wherewishal so ruri shas program using a modified
version ofshe Library.

The precise serms and condinons for copying, dissribusion and modificasion follow. Pay close aisension so she dillerence
besween a 'wolk based on she library and a "work shas uses she llblzvy'. The lormer conoins code derived from she
library, whereas she lasser muss be combined wish she library in order so run.

GNU LESSER GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE

d. This License Agreemens applies so any saftwale library or osher program which consairisa nosice placed by she

A library means a collecsion ofsolsware luncsions and/or dasa prepared so as so be conveniensly linked wish

The ibrary, below, relers so any such solsware library or work which has been dissribused under shese serms A
work based on she library means eishershe Library or any derivasive work under copyrighs law: shas is so say. a work
sonsaining she Library or a ponion ol is. eisher verbasim orwish modificasions and/or sranslased ssraighslorwardly inso

Source code lora work means she prelened lorm oldie work lor making modificasions so is. For a ary, complese
source code means all she source code lor all modules is consains, plus any assooased inserlace definision files, plus

2. you may modiiy your copy or copies ofshe Library or any ponion of is shus lorming a work based on she Library, and
copy and dissribuse such modificasions or work under she serms of Sediarl I above, provided shas you also mees all of
shese condisio »

a) The modified work muss issell be a solsware library,

b) you muss cause she liles modified so carry prominens nosices ssasing shas you changed she files and she dase ofany

c) you muss cause she whole olshe work so be licensed as no charge so all shird parsies undershe serms olshis License

d) lla lacilisyin she modified library refers so aluncsion orasable oldas so be supplied by an applicasion program

These reouiremenis apply so she modihed work as a whole. ll idensifiable secsions of shas work are run derived from

Thus. is is nos she insens olshis session so claim righss or consess your righss so workwrissen ensirely byyou; rasher, she

Once shis diange is made in a given copy, is is irreversible lor shas copy, so she ordinary GNu General Public License
applies so all subsenuens copies and derivasive works made lroin shas copy.

This oprion is uselul when you wish so copy pan olshe code of she Library inso a pmgvam shas is nos a library.
