"IE OUHNUISSEUR 8 2 pickup arm is a further development to meet the demand for a

high precision instrument. The arm itself is neat and functional yet robust. Finished in
polished chrome and mat! black it will enhance any hi fi installation.

It incorporates exclusive features. Gimbals set at'45'l45 enable the natural force of
gravity to be harnessed to advantage. By adding a small arm to the inner gimbal ring

an outward bias is achieved with the minimum of moving parts. The bias compensator
corrects the "skating' effect or inward pull due to the offset of the pickup head and the
friction between the stylus and the record. Without bias there is unequal pressure on

each wall of the groove. resulting in distortion particularly when a stereo record is played.
A sliding weight on the arm enables the amount of bias to be easily adiusted.

The arm is fitted with a lift and lowering deviif which is so essential when working
with low playing weights. It is damped to give a slow lowering action. giving added
protection to the stylus and rerord.

The arm rest is integral with the assembly.

The adjustable counterbalance weight is decoupled from the arm.

A lielttweixht shell will; self cleaning contacts is provided with each arm and additional
head shells are obtainable.

The installation of the arm is made as simple as possil'le. using the single hole fixing
tnetltod. Connection it made by a 5 pin plug: at tile base of the stern and the colour
coded cables are terminated by pltono plugs.

A precision knife edge balance infinitely variable between 0 and 6 grams is provided
for setting the playing weight.
