This intest tape transport InechanIsm incorporates features whlch have made Brenell tape decks tamous the
world over for their precision engineering. outstanding performance and reliability.
As with previous equipment simplicity of operation is still the keynote. Two switches control the functions
of Record. Playback. Wind and Rewind. Switch interlocking prevents misuse of the machine and a safety lock
button is incorporated to prevent accidental erasure.
Anticipating the possibility that control of the associated equipment may be required the Record/Playback
and Wind/Rewind switches are fitted with longer than usual spindles which will accommodate eXtra wafers.
The latest self- -compensating braking system gives quick stopping facility without tape breakage O! spillage
and the large dynamically balanced flywheel ensures a very high level of speed stability
A Pause mechanism which is lockable simplifies the editing of recordings When the Record/Playback knob
is turned to the "'OFF position the pause lock will automatically disengage itself
A 4 digit revolution counter with push button reset enables quick and easy location of recorded items.
To enable one to use from 3 reels up to the maximum size of 8}" the deck is fitted with a tape tension
adjustable from the top of the deck.
An auto-stop which operates in the case of tape breakage or the tape running out is now a standard feature
of the Mark 6 Tape Deck. The new style pull-off head covers give quick access to the heads and pressure pads.
The Mark 6 Tape Deck is supplied to operate at three speeds, Le. lg, 33» and 7% i.p.s. At a small extra charge
a special capstan sleeve and pinch wheel are available t3 modify the deck for l5 i,p.s. working.
Normally the Mark 6 Deck is supplied fitted with one u/t erase and one u/t record/replay head. There is
however, accommodation proVIded for the fitting of up to four heads and some of the various combinations
are listed below:_

BRENELL MARK 610 TAPE DECK FOR
10:)" NAB AND STANDARD REELS
A modified Mark 610 tape deck is available which is basically the same as the standard Mark 6 deck with the
exception of the siting of the rewind and take-up motors and the provision of special adaptors to enable the
standard type spool holders to accommodate 10% NAB reels.
Designated the Mark 610" this deck is available for use on mains voltages of 200/250V 50c/s (1004207
60c/s to order).
