Located on service web site. Preventative Repair Measures Note: Perform the following on all units returned for repair. Product Check Action 321 II / GSX Console CD/DVD Drive Version Replace All B50 version drives with new drive . The version information is on the drive label. 321 II / GSX Console CD/DVD Drive for format unsupported Replace DVD drive on All consoles that come in with a complaint of format unsupported. 321 II / GSX Console Ribbon cables Install Kapton tape to the ribbon cable s at connector J3 on keypad PCB to prevent cable from coming unseated. See page 6 of this document for illustration. 321 II / GSX Console J2 on button pcb Reflow solder at connector J2 on button pcb to prevent connector from coming unseated. 321 II / GSX Console C107 Inspect main PCB for damaged capacitor C107, located below connector J100. It is possible to damage the part when removing the CD/DVD drive. 321 II / GSX Console CD/DVD Power Cable Replace on all units. Part # 304996 -265. Refer to service bulletin 273029 -B5. 321 II Console Screws that secure top cover assembly The 321 II console was manufactured with 2 different screw types to secure the top cover. (see FIG 1) The TAPP screws are more likely to damage the top cover and should be discarded. They should be replaced with the BLUNT style screws part # 289508 - 036. FIG. 1 321 II / GSX Console Capacitors C7, C18, C26, C53 and inductors L1, L17. The component leads need to be clipped on the bottom side of the main pcb on all units to prevent them fr om shorting to the EMI shield. 321 II / GSX Console DVD eject pin. Remove eject pin if present on all units. 321 II /GSX Console Software Revision Update to latest revision. 321 II Console Firmware Revision Update to latest revision. 321 GSX Console Metadata Revision Update to latest revision. 321 II Bass Module Software Revision Update to latest revision.

IR receiver (located on bezel assembly) may be defective. Repla ce if defective, part # 270841 -001. Connector J2 on button pcb may also be unseated. Repair or replace as needed. 321 II Console Bad video from component output RCA block connector J201 may be defective. Connect console to a component input and check video. Video will have a blue tint, and stressing the connections on rear of unit will cause the video to return to normal, along with a clicking sound. Re place connector J201 (279923 -002 ) if defective. 321 II Console No keypad / remote functions Button pcb ribbon cable Check for unseated ribbon cable from button pcb connector J3. 321 II Console No display Q6503 on main board Check for shorted transistor Q6503, replace with part # 260354 -001. 321 II Console Dim display Capacitors C20, C21, C25 and C58 on bottom side of main pcb Check for cold solder joints or insufficient solder. This may cause the display to dim or fade completely. 321 II Console No audio from CD/DVD. AM/FM audio ok U8002 U8002 may be defective. Repla ce with part # 193858 -004. 321 GSX Console 801/802 error Hard drive Connect customers hard drive to a USB port on your PC. If the hard drive is recognized, transfer the customers stored music to a new hard drive. If the hard drive is not recognized by the PC, install a new hard drive. 321 II / GSX Console No / intermittent power Capacitors C 7, C18, C26 and C53 The component leads may be shorting to the EMI shield. 321 II / GSX Console BOSE 321 stuck on display CD/DVD Drive Attempt to power the unit on using a known good CD/DVD drive. Replace if defective. 321 II / GSX Console BOSE 321 stuck on display U6203 If CD/DVD drive does not correct the issue, replace flash IC U6203. 307633 STD/GS 307634 GSX
