Pocket F ILTERTM
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Pocket Fl LTER" can be used to filter any type of MIDI data in a MIDI Line. It can be usedwith anytype of MIDI equipment and requires no batteries or external power
supply to operate.
1. FILTERING ON ALL MIDI CHANNELS.

a) Connect the MIDI OUT of a keyboard or other MIDI Device to the jack labeled In" of the Pocket FILTER".
b) Connect the output iack labled Out of Pocket FILTER" to the MIDI IN of a synthesizer or sound module.
The red status light is normally on but W1 ll to m otfwhen MIDI data is being sent through Pocket F ILTER". Real time messages do not cause the status light to turn oif.
Data is filtered by selecting the data type with the white rocker switches numbered I through 8. When any ofthese switches are turned on, that data type is filtered on
all 16 MIDI channels. The following table lists the data types that correspond to the switches on Pocket FILTER'K

a) Make the connections as described in part 1.
b) lurn all white rocker switches ON The status light will flash steadily indicating that channel set mode has been activated,

d) Turn on white rocker switch corresponding to the type of data to be filtered
c) Select on what channeks) the data is to be sent using the keychart below.

NOTE: Most Roland keyboards send an ALI. NOTES OFF command whenever the last key is released; merefore, ensure that at least one key remains down while
selecting more than one MIDI channel.
Filter switches can be turned nifat any time. Channel settings are retained as long as MIDI connected to the IN" iack on Pocket FILTER" and the device to which it is

5. CONNECTION WITH OTHER POCKET PRODUCTS
Pocket F ILTER" is compatible with all other Pocket PRODUCTS" and can be connected with several of them in the same MIDI line. It is recommended that the
number of Pocket PRODUCTS"I connected to the output of a keyboard or other MIDI device be limited to four.
4. MIDI DATA ERRORS/RESETTING
Although Anatek's Pocket PRODUCTS" are designed to handle large volumes of MIDI data. it is sometimes possible to cause a MIDI buller overflt 3w. If this occurs, the
status light will tum 06' and remain ofluntil Pocket FILTERm is reset. There are [W0 Ways to reset Pocket FILTER": l ) Remove the MIDI cable from the IN jack on
Pocket FILTER", wait 5 seconds and reinsert the MIDI cable. 2 ) Turn ()3 the MIDI devrce to which Pocket FILTER" is connected, wait 5 seconds and turn the device
hack on.
