PROGRAMMER

ALTEC

DESCRIPTION

The ALTEC LANSING 8055B MicroAudio Pro-
grammer is an accessory programmer for all ALTEC
LANSING programmable equalizers. The
lightweight, handheld unit permits the equalizers
to be adjusted quickly and easily using traditional
real-time analyzer techniques. It interfaces directly
to the equalizers requiring no external power
source.

Two LED arrays indicate the gain, and frequency
band selected. Six membrane switches are pro-
vided to select and program the desired settings.
Two keys, " < and " >, select the frequency
band, and the A" and V keys determine in
which direction the gain will step. The FLAT key

resets all bands to unity gain (0 dB), and the ENTR
key tells the unit to send the individual changes
to the equalizer.

Three new features have been added; the ability
to recall and display previously programmed set-
tings, the ability to program master gain (85513
and 85588 only), and a prompt for the FLAT key
to prevent accidental erasures of recently pro-
grammed settings. Coupled with these new
features, the 80553 makes programming or veri-
fying correct settings faster, more convenient, and
ideal for field use.

ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS SPECIFICATIONS

The programmer shall interface directly to the
805518 or 805583 programmable one-third octave
equalizers, and be fully backwards-compatible with
earlier models. It shall have two LED arrays to in
dicate the frequency band seleded and the amount
of boost or cut in 1 dB step sizes. Membrane
switches shall be provided for the following six func-
tions: increment the frequency band, decrement the
frequency band, increment the gain, decrement the
gain, reset all bands to unity gain, and transmit the
