Since unsitiwty will vary according to the tape used.
the best way to set the recording input level will be to
adjust the Input Controls (with the unit in the
RECORDING mode and the Monitor Switch pout-
ttoned to TAPE) in ii manner to bring it close to
OVU when the min; of the V0 Meters indicator is
maximum. Even if the left and right Input Controls are
positioned somewhat differently. the level indicated on
the W meter should be considered as the standard for
all adjustments and therefore. level adjustments should
be effected centering on the V13 Meters. This will
ensure the best recording level.

Because this machine ts equipped With GX Heads. not

only hits to» been minimized during recording and

playback but recording without any distortion is
possible even when the level exceeds "0V0" when
using the wide dynamic-range, high-performance tape.

Further. at recording, the level can be raised to the

highest poanihlc range without distortion by simul-

taneous monitoring. By raisrns the level. the dynamic
range becomes that much wider. enabling recording
with excellent S/N ratio.

Depending on the recording input. the VU Meter
will not indicate distortion that has generated in the
recordings on the tape. Even in such ctr-res, the
presence at any distortion can be checked through
simultaneous monitoring.
