For watches and car engines, oil circulat- ing self-lubricating motors are more prac- tical and for tape recorder motors as well. Two oil circulating cellulose fiber mecha- nisms are installed in this high performing induction motor for long lasting trouble- free operation. Oil circulating speed is adjusted naturally according to motor revolutions and temperature. Thus, shaft rotation is always smooth and stable and various mechanical trouble resulting from oil circulation suspension does not occur. Further, these unique cellulose fibers act as filters to keep the oil clean during the circulating process for epoch making en- durance" This model is equipped with a Tape Selector Switch facilitating the use of high performance wide range tape. Set- ting this switch according to the tape being used adjusts the equaltzation for better frequency response characteristics. New 3-Way Speaker Switch (Mute/Re- cording Monitor, Normal, PA) provides proper signal output for private head- phone listening or monitoring during recording, speaker output, or Public Ad- dress System. In keeping with Akai's top quality parts utrhzation policy, the 1122W incorporates top quality parts and features robust construction and sturdy mechanism. Our dependable two lever control system en- sures fr.rrther durability. A special feature of this model is the Autom attc Shut-OFF function of the unit. When the Autom attc Shut-Off Switch is set to ON position, the power of the entire unit is cut at the end of the tape. A very convenient feature should the recorder be left unattended. For a full bodied P.A. System, simply set rear panel Speaker Switch to PA position and set recorder to recording mode. Mi- crophones are used to activate the speaker system. The 1122W is equipped with pause con- trol for momentarily suspending tape travel during recording or playback. Es- pecially useful for editing tape during recording. Just lift the Pause Lever when a certain portion of the program is not desired. Pause control also permits opti- mum adjustment and balance of recording level prior to recording for consistent signal level input. Convenient Start But- ton release. Connection to the front panel Mic/Phono Jacks through an RCA/Mic plug connec- tion cord and setting the rear panel Mic/- Phono Switch to MIC position activates the built-in phono equalizer amplifier for direct recording from a magnetic phono cartridge. Although a handy compact model, the I7 22W is equipped with tw o 5 x J 'o built-in speakers for sufficient speaker output even where space is limited. Also equipped with Speaker Jacks for utihza- tion of a larger speaker system if desired. Line and DIN input and output connec- tions and multiple controls facilitate varied operation. The Din Jack can be used instead of Line Input and Output Jacks. This one cord connection systern facilitates easy recording and playback through an external amplifier as the com- plex connection and disconnection of four separate cords is eliminated" Handy 3-digit Tape Counter with Reset Bu tton provides a quick reference for locating positions on the tape. Convenient built-in reel retainers firmly lock reels into place and provide equal reel tension. Easy to lock and release.
