Explanation of Graphical Symbols:

within an equilateral triangle, is intended to
alert the user to the presence of uninsulated
dangerous voltage" within the products en-
closure that may be of sufficient magnitude to
constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.

The exclamation point within an equilateral
triangle is intended to alert the user to the
presence of important operating and mainte-
nance (servicing) instructions in the literature
accompanying the appliance.

PRECAUTIONS

Read the Operating Instructions carefully and completely before
operating the unit. Be sure to keep the Operating Instructions for
future reference. All warnings and cautions in the Operating
Instructions and on the unit should be strictly followed, as well as
the safety suggestions below.

Water and moisture -- Do not use this unit near water, such as

near a bathtub, washbowl, swimming pool, or the like.

Heat - Do not use this unit near sources of heat, including

heating vents, stoves, or other appliances that generate heat.

It also should not be placed in temperatures less than 5°C

(41°F) or greaterthan 35"C (95°F).

Mounting surface - Place the unit on a flat, even surface.

Venti ation - The unit should be situated with adequate space

around it so that proper heat ventilation is assured. Allow 10 cm

(4 in.) clearance from the rear and the top of the unit, and 5 cm

(2 in.) from the each side.

- Do not place the unit on a bed, rug, orsimilarsurface that may
block the ventilation openings.

- Do not install the unit in a bookcase, cabinet, or airtight rack
where ventilation may be impeded.

Objects and liquid entry -Take care that objects or liquids do

not get inside the unit through the ventilation openings.

Carts and stands - When placed or

mounted on a stand or cart, the unit

should be moved with care.

Quick stops, excessive force, and un-

even surfaces may cause the unit or

cart to overturn or fall.

Condensation - Moisture may form on the CD pickup lens
when:

- The unit is moved from a cold spot to a warm spot

- The heating system has just been turned on

- The unit is used in a very humid room

- The unit is cooled by an air conditioner

When this unit has condensation inside, it may not function
normally. Should this occur, leave the unit fora few hours, then
try to operate again.

Wall or ceiling mounting ~The unit should not be mounted on
a wall or ceiling, unless specified in the Operating Instructions.

Electric Power

Power sources - Connect this unit only to power sources
specified in the Operating Instructions, and as marked on the
unit.

Polarization - As a safety feature, some units are equipped

with polarized AC power plugs which can only be inserted one

way into a poweroutlet. If it is difficult or impossible to insertthe

AC power plug into an outlet, turn the plug over and try again,

If it still does not easily insert into the outlet, please call a

qualified service technician to service or replace the outlet. To

avoid defeating the safety feature of the polarized plug, do not
force it into a power outlet.

AC power cord

- When disconnecting the AC power cord, pull it out by the AC
power plug. Do not pull the cord itself.

- Never handle the AC power plug with wet hands, as this could
result in fire or shock.

- Power cords should be routed to avoid being severely bent,
pinched, or walked upon. Pay particular attention to the cord
from the unit to the power socket,

- Avoid overloading AC power plugs and extension cords
beyond their capacity, as this could result in fire or shock,
Extension cord - To help prevent electric shock, do not use a
polarized AC power plug with an extension cord, receptacle, or
other outlet unless the polarized plug can be completely in-

serted to prevent exposure of the blades of the plug.

When not in use - Unplug the AC power cord from the AC

outlet it the unit will not be used for several months or more.

When the cord is plugged in, asmall amount of currentcontinues

to flow to the unit, even when the power is turned off.

Outdoor Antenna

Power lines - When connecting an outdoor antenna, make
sure it is located away from power lines.

Outdoor antenna grounding 7 Be sure the antenna system is
properly grounded to provide protection against unexpected
voltage surges or static electricity buildup. Article 810 of the
National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information
on proper grounding of the mast, supporting structure, and the
lead-in wire to the antenna discharge unit, as well as the size of
the grounding unit, connection to grounding terminals, and
requirements for grounding terminals.

CARGA DE UN DISCO

1 Pulse el botén CD del mando a distancia (0 pulse
repetidamente el botén FUNCTION del
reproductor de discos compactos/platina de
casetes hasla que aparezca CD en la pantalla)
y pulse el bolén A OPEN/CLOSE para abrir la
lapa del compartimiento del disco.

2 Cargue un disco con el lado de la etiqueta hacia
arriba.

A OPEN/CLOSE

3 Pulse nuevamente el botén é OPEN/CLOSE para
cerrar la tapa del oompartimiento del disco.

Precaucién
No ponga sus dedos en el compartimiento del disco cuando
se eslé cerrando Ia tapa del compartimiento del disco.

REPRODUCCION DE UN DISCO

Cargue un disco.

Pulse el botén <> en el reproductor de discos
compactos/platina de caseles 0 el botén D del
mando a distancia.
Empieza a reproducir la primera pista del disco compactc
cargado.

Sobre el indicador de nivel
La indicacion anterior cambia autométicamenle al indicador de
nivel después de 4 segundos.
El indicadorde nivel muestra el nivel aproximado de los sonidos
reproducidos.

Para parar Ia reproduccién, pulse el botén I.

Para hacer una pausa de reproduccién, pulse el bolén ll
Para seguir reproduciendo, pulse nuevamente.

Para buscar un punto especial durante la reproduccién, .
mantenga pulsado el botén « o » y suelle el botén en el
punto deseadc.
Para saltar al principio de una pista durante la reproduccién,
pulse repetidamente el boton « 0 >>. El aparato salta hacia
adelante par Ias pistas con el botén » y salta hacia atras con
el botén «.

Para sacar el disco, pulse el botén .5 OPEN/CLOSE.

Para empezar a reproducir cuando el aparato esté
desconectado (funcién de reproduccién directa)

Pulse el botén CD del mando a distancia. Se conecta el aparato
y empieza a reproduclr el disco cargado.

Seleccién de una pista con el mando a distancia I
Pulse Ias teclas numeradas y la tecla +10 para seleccionar una
pisla.

Eiemplo:

Para seleccionar Ia pista 25, pulse las tecias +10, +10 y 5.
Para seleccionar la piste 10, pulse las teclas +10 y 0.

La pisla seleccionada empieza a reproducir y sigue
reproduciendo hasta el final del disco.

No coloque mas de un disco compacto en la bandeja del disco.

La fonction dedition Al permet lenregistrement dun CD sans
avoir a sinquiéter de la Iongueur de la bande et des pistes. Quand
un CD est inséré, le lecteur CD/platine cassette calcule
automatiquement la longueur des pistes. Si nécessaire, Iorclre
des pistes sera modifie pour éviter toute coupure de piste.

(AI: Intelligence artificieIIe)

Lenregislrement dédition AI ne commencera pas dun point en
cours de bande. La cassette doit étre enregistrée du debut dune
face.

1 lnsérez la cassette dans la platine.
Chargez Ia cassette, Ia face a enregislrer en premier vars Ie
haut.

2 Appuyez sur la touche CD de la télécommande,
ou plusieurs fois sur la touche FUNCTION de Ie
lecteur CDIplatine cassette ole sorte que EDIT"
saffiche et que AI clignote sur l'afficheur.

3 Appuyez plusieurs fois sur la touche CD EDIT en
pressant la touche SHIFT sur la télécommande
iusqua ce que EDIT" s'allume et que Al
clignote sur lafficheur.

4 Appuyez sur les touches numériques pour
désigner la Iongueur de la bande.
10 a 99 minutes peuvent étre spécifiées.

Appuyez sur la touche I. Lenregistrement et la lecture du CD
s'arrétent simultanément.

Pour effacer un programme édité
Appuyez deux fois sur la touche I de sorte que EDIT"
disparaisse de Iafficheur.

Pour vérifier lordre des numéros des pistes
programmées

Avant Ienregistrement, appuyez sur la touche CD EDIT en
maintenant pressée la touche SHIFT de la telecommande pour
sélectionner la face A ou B, puis plusieurs fois sur la touche
».

La duree réelle denregistrement de la cassette est ordinairement
un peu plus tongue que la duree denregistrement imprimée sur
l'étiquette. Cette chaine peut programmer des pistes pour utiliser
ce temps additionnel.

- Lenregistrement est invalidé si le taquet de prevention
denregistrement sur une des faces de la cassette est brisé.
- La fonction édition Al est inutilisable aver: des disques contenant

31 pistes ou plus.

La function edition programmee permet Ienregistrement dun CD
tout en contrélant Ie temps restant sur chaque face de la cassette
pendant Ia programmation des pistes.

HEMARQUE

Lenregistrement dedition programmée ne commencera pas dun
point an cours de bande. La cassette doit étre enregistrée du
début dune face.

1 Insérez Ia cassette dans la platine.
Chargez Ia cassette. Ia face a enregistrer en premier vers Ie
haut.

2 Appuyez sur la touche CD de la téIecommande,
ou plusieurs fois sur la touche FUNCTION du
Iecteur CD/platine cassette de sorte que CD"
saffiche, et chargez Ie disque.

3 Appuyez plusieurs fois sur la touche CD EDIT en
mainenant pressée Ia touche SHIFT sur la
télécommande iusqua ce que EDIT" s'allume et
que PRGM clignote sur Iafficheur.

4 Appuyez sur les touches numériques pour
designer Ia Iongueur de la bande.
10 a 99 minutes peuvent étre specifiées.
Exemple: Pour une cassette de 60 minutes, appuyez sur Ies
touches 6 et 0.
- Les touches « et » sont aussi utilisabies pour designer
ta Iongueur de la cassette.

Iamorce est lue 10 secondes et Ienregistrement démarre. A
la fin de lenregistrement sur la face vers Ie haut (face A),
Ienregistrement sur Iautre face (face B) demarre.

Pour arréter Ienregistrement
Appuyez sur la touche I. L'enregistrement et la lecture du CD
sarrétent simultanémenti

Pour vérifier Iordre des numéros des pistes

programmées

Avant Ienregistrement, appuyez sur la touche CD EDIT en

maintenant pressée Ia touche SHIFT sur la teiécommande pour

sélectionner Ia face A ou B, puis plusieurs fois sur la touche

Pour modifier le programme de chaque face

Appuyez sur la touche CD EDIT en maintenant pressée Ia touche
SHIFT sur la télecommande pour sélectionner Ia face A ou B,
puis sur la touche I pour effacer le programme de la face
sélectionnee. Ensuite, reprogrammez Ies pistes.

Pour effacer un programme édité
Appuyez plusieurs fois sur la touche I de sorte que EDIT"
disparaisse de Iatficheur.

Lenregistrement est invalidé si Ie taquet de prevention contre
Ienregistrement est brisé sur une des faces de la cassette.
